Just DX w/Thrush

and out of all the sx I've experienced (mild-moderate rash, nausea, dysguisia) this one has to be the worst-eating is almost impossible for a week. PCP swbbed me for strep and hep doc wanted me to go back to PCP for anti-fungal pills. I started to cry to hep doc nurse who understood that I was being misdiagnosed/bounced around by MD's-she called in some pills that will take yet another week to work. Into wk. 8 of tx-ugh! I'm eating greek yogurt for meds protein and soothes a bit.

Magic mouthwash is something to consider too. It is a ‘swish ‘n swallow Rx concoction that contains various proportions of Maalox, benadryl (anti-inflammatory), lidocaine (anesthetic), and sometimes Nystatin (antifungal). It numbs on contact to make eating and drinking a bit easier, although it doesn’t last too long. Typically it’s prescribed to take 5-6 times daily, or as needed.

Good luck,

Hi Indy.  Sorry to hear this and I hope it is resolved soon. Maybe some mashed sweet potatoes, Jello or ice cream in the meantime too??  Here is a link for you:

I had thrush too. Was prescribed clotrimazole (nystatin) 10 MG troches (lozenge/pill) dissolved on the tongue 5 x a day. It was gone in a day or 2.
It's gross. But I gently brush my tongue and swish with the biotin and all the bad taste and mouth symptoms are very diminished from what they were. Hang in there.
