There are many dietary adjustments you can make to improve kidney function. Aside from cutting back on the salt and drinking plenty of water, specific foods will also reduce protein the urine and even restore Kidney functions. People have restored their kidney function completely. Here's the program that seems to be getting the best results. Have a look and get some free tips and ideas. http://tinyurl.com/k6zf7h7

I am doing well. Thanks for asking. I'm sorry to learn that there have been some bumps but I think it's a good sign that they haven't been liver related. It's true that I did have some difficult setbacks but I wouldn't assume that your husband will neccesarily experience the same thing. I know many people who came through this procedure with relatively few difficulties and I hope your husband will be as fortunate. But I suspect that a lot of people have  problems of one type and degree or another so definitely do not get discouraged. I agree that it is a long road but I can't complain about the length of the road as long as things eventually resolve positively. I believe that things are looking good for you considering that his liver and kidney functions are good. I wish you a very happy holiday season and will watch for updates from you. You sound like you and your husband have great attitudes and that is essential in this situation. Mike

Sorry to hear that the virus is again detectable.  There seems to be newer and better treatments on the horizon so maybe the next one will be the charm.  Keep hoping.

Sorry to hear about the relapse. Can't help you with the kidney problems, but good luck.

Rev, I know how attached you are to interferon, but still, I'm sorry that you'll have to go through it all again. On the other hand, I miss tx in a certain way--it limited what I could do and focused me a lot. These days, it seems that there are hundreds of details to attend to and no time to think. I go tomorrow for my 3 month blood test so...

I haven't been around much but reading your posting has me in shock. I can't believe you have relapsed!!! After all that hard work, extra weeks (months) you put in, and now to hear this, I am totally stunned. You know, if you can relapse, anyone of us can, I will be thinking hard about my 6 month test, maybe it'll be time to stick my head in the sand again.

I am very sorry Scott, for you and your family.

We have encountered those bumps in the road and have been back in ICU for some repairs, not related to the liver exactly, mostly breathing (he had been intebated again) and infections. Almost needed some more OR time, but things have righted themselves again. Hopefully back to Transplant ward tomorrow or Friday. We are upbeat, moving forward and not going to loose our courage (or sanity). All liver functions are moving in the right direction and kidneys are perfect. How are you and your family doing? Trust all is fine with you. Such a long road, huh?

For what it's worth, my GI doesn't put much stock in Japanese studies.  He told me recently that Japanese studies are notoriously off-base and lacking in solid scientific techniques.  He went on to say that most of his colleagues take Japanese studies with a grain of salt.

I am not that familiar with glomerulonephritis.

But would like to welcome you to the forum. I am so sorry that you relapsed. I have relapsed twice before and am doing my 3rd round of TX now.

Someone that knows more about you condition will chime in.

              God Bless,
