hey,
i have leather body, i could actually peel my skin its so dry. my eye sockets are now drying out. I have used just about every cream made, prescription, over the counter, 5.00 a tube and 50.00 a tube, nothing works for me. Eucerin seems to control it the best. Water is the most important thing. I have to admite i do not drink enough.
I would try and stay hydrated, cool showers, dont rub your face with the towel, pat dry. and then try one of the over the counter creams, best with out perfumes.
good luck
peace
rita

sorry foks kinda self absorbed...I'm having a tough night tonight
One thing to remember is every thing you put on your skin, and every toxin you breathe in, as well as all you eat, it ALL has to be processed by the liver.
For this reason I have steered clear of creams made with diverse chemicals. I soak in a tepid bath with a Tablespoon on olive oil. It will hydrate your skin, and what makes it to the blood stream is actually good for you. this tx does work, but I've been bad lately and haven't done it for a while and am getting very dried out again.
At least while doing this a couple times a week my skin and scalp stopped hurting itching scaling, and my hair all stayed. For the skin but NOT the face anhydrous lanolin is the closest to our bodies own fatty layer, and it can turn leather to lace, but some folks are allergic to it....you definitely don't want it near your eyes.
If you don't like the smell of olive oil you could get a good sunflower or safflower oil that would work as well, but if you buy the light colored olive oil, it hardly has any odor,

Would that be virgin, extra virgin, or extra extra virgin?
I saw the olive oil mentioned ....I'll try it
good point on the other creams,Drugs going through the liver....
virgins were never any fun....lol
It is nice to see you posting. I don't check in too often so am glad I saw your name. It is hard to believe you are at 45/48 already. You are almost there! I don't have any suggestions for your face - where you out in the sun too long? I would have likened my skin to that of an alligator at the end of treatment.
So when did you clear? Have you had sensititive PCRs? What about anemia? Have you been on any rescue drugs?
Hang in there. It is almost over and you can get out and ride that bike
frijole
I cleared a little late,.. I'm a type 3 so I was supposed to treat 6months...
You may remember I had complications before I started.... inflamed liver, diabetes,my AST,ALT...very high over 1800, 2400...I needed aranesp for the hemo....it went under 10.... 3 times
My ast alt took till May to go into normal range.I didn't think that would happen?
A pleasant surprise....another consequence my diabetes....there was no sign of it in my last two blood tests.....I believe the interferon knocked it out. It was some good news to keep me going....
I'm a day at a time guy so I've been using prayer & meditation....many many meetings
Which I strongly suggest double the meetings 2 a day sometimes,... good luck folks
Be gentle with yourselfs
Rangle
LOL the less virgin the better in this case.
Just look for LIGht Bertoli's, not a cold press or dipping or extra virgin Oil.
Most of it ends up down the drain, and
who wants to end up smelling like a green smelly olive any how.
So usually, virgin=good
this time virgin=smelly and not good
now where with goofy dad go with that one!!!!!!!!

Some things you can try for dry skin and the itching are the Aveeno oatmeal bath, anti itch cream found at wall mart, bath oils that don't irritate you. You may want to try taking Omega 3 fish oil. It is good for helping the dry skin and is enexpensive at walmart. I like the Aveeno dry skin lotion it cost a bit more but is worth it. Good luck.
