Your taste buds will come back, mine did.
It's so great to be able to eat all my favorite spicy food again.
Just begin with one bite at a time, you'll put that weight back on :)

Btw, as OH mentioned, water and exercise is important.  You will feel better if you keep drinking that WATER.

Congratulations!!  Onward to SVR!

Hi bbj, congratulations on finishing.  It took me about two weeks to start feeling weep enouGh to go to work.  I still came home and crashed each night and I really zoned out a lot at work.  By week 6 I had good stamina and energy, I could walk a couple miles without tiring out.

The metallic past was gone for me around week 5, it reduced over weeks 3 and 4 for me.  It was such a relief when it was gone.

Be careful with your health.  Avoid crowded placed, avoid sick people, wash your hands often, keep some antiseptic hand sanitized with you if you can.  I had bronchitis or pneumonia twice in the first 8 weeks.  Avoid sick people.

One of the worst linging effects for me was this tenseness at my core.  It had dwindled a lot by week 15 but was still driving me a bit crazy.  Finally went to the spa and got a full body massage.  Guys have great hands for massages.  Over the next few days it pretty much disappeared.  I heard that your should not get a massage while on chemo because it could damage weakened muscles.  Probably not good to do to early post tx but wish I had done it a few weeks earlier.

I have only completed the incivek portion of treatment, so not completely done. You will get your appetite back again and will start being able to eat. I could eat hardly anything during the incivek portion of treatment. I too lost a lot of weight even with taking in my 20g of fat with each Incivek dose. I worried about that all of the time. Not sure how much weight I lost total, but I went to Dr yesterday and I am still down  25 lbs from my original weight and have had my appetite back and eating (eating healthy though) since ending the incivek. As OH says continue to drink PLENTY of water and get some exercise.

I finished tx in late March, and felt better as soon as I stopped the riba however it takes 4 weeks before blood levels bounce back. I also had some post tx side effects, which are gone.
Be patient, continue to drink water and try to get some exercise.
