My Friend Needs Help

My friend lives in Lewisville thats right out side of Dallas Tx. she has no insurance and not much money does anyone know where she can get help. All she has had done is the test for Hep c.They wont let her in a clinical trial without a GI and the GI's she has talk to wont let her pay her bill out they want it up front. She said they act like they dont care.....My doctors office said they would let her pay it out and fill the paper work for the free meds we were trying to get something closer to where she lives, any help would be appreciated........one other thing does anyone know if it is mandatory to have a liver biospy to get in a clinical trial, she does not have money for a biospy. Thank in advance for your responses.

UT Southwestern in Dallas has several clinical trials open that include the works and may or maynot require liver biopsy.  The doctors name is Dr. Lee (I think) but Cory Wentworth is the PA who pretty much runs the show.  I dont know much more but a little footwork should reveal somemore resources.  The local county hospital may have a GI or internist who can run the preliminaries and in their systems your friend may get reduced cost care.  She should look into public assistance medical care if she qualifies.

You are a great friend to be checking this out for her!  Revenire had some great resources for you there.  I know that there is all kinds of clinicals out there,,,You just have to do the search and legwork. I don't know if she even has a computer but you can find some amazing things on internet if you have the time to research which would be well worth because these meds are unbelieveable how high they are.  Good luck and Hope you are doing good so far on meds and hanging in there!!
