Hi. Thanks for your imput. Didn't realize most are undetectable so soon. Go to Mayo and they really stay on top of the situation. Will say tho have a good feeling about this treatment......Think I read you had a liver transplant? Hope your doing well and your new liver is adjusting. Kim
In my 3rd week klonny. So far so good. No real side effects so far. Hope treatment runs smoothly. Hang in there and keep us posted. Kim
Hi Hector, thanks for your input I really appreciate it. I am optimistic that all will go according to plan. I will put the potential sides out of my mind as best I can and take it a day at a time
Best to you,
Dave
Side effects take time to appear. Mine took about 3-4 weeks before I started getting headaches periodically and noticing some fatigue. But I had advanced cirrhosis and so was more prone to side effects.
The most common adverse events (≥ 20%) for SOVALDI + ribavirin combination therapy were fatigue (38%) and headache (24%). Nausea (22%) and Insomnia (15%).
Good luck with your treatment!
Hector
I just wanted to point out that if you started on January 15, 2014 you have become "undetectable", not cured. It takes 12 weeks of treatment and then stopping treatment. Waiting another 12 weeks after treatment stopped and then PCR results showing there is no viral load to be considered "cured" or SVR.
Almost everyone treating with Sovaldi becomes undetectable before 4 weeks after starting treatment. The virus does not come back during treatment. All people that fail the treatment do so only after the treatment is stopped. They "relapse" (the viral load becomes detectable) usually within the first month.
12 weeks of treatment:
Genotype 2 cirrhotics had SVR = 83%
The FUSION study for treatment experienced patients, 34% of whom were cirrhotics showed previously treated cirrhotics, treating with Sovaldi + ribavirin had the following SRV rates
12 weeks of treatment for genotype 2 cirrhotics were:
Prior Relaspser/Breakthrough 86%
Nonresponder 70%
16 weeks of treatment for genotype 2 cirrhotics were:
Prior Relaspser/Breakthrough 89%
Nonresponder 88%
Best of luck with your treatment!
Hector
Cool! Congrats! I am also genotype 2 F2-F3 fibrosis. I started the same Sovaldi/Ribavirin treatment on January 28 or just three days ago. I felt great to begin with and haven't noticed any side effects at all so far...how's it going for you side effect wise? Dave
Started Jan 15. Geno 2. Blood work yesterday. Mayo clinic called today.........Virus is gone. KNEW it. All week my aches and pains went away. Sovaldi/Ribavarin. Walk in the park. Virus is considered not in remission but cured. Hope all of you can get on this treatment soon. What a wonder drug. ....K
