Pain in some joints and exhaustion!!!

Dear all,

I have been diagnosed positive genotype 1 since 1994, never really had any changes in my blood exams; done a ULTRASOUND last month JAN 07 due a sharp pain from time to time since about a year ago, nothing wrong with the results; the pain is right at the liver, it comes and go for about 30 to 50 seconds and it is getting worse; I am having lots of unusual stomach pain lately, I am 39 yrs old and have always been very athletic, but now I don't feel like much sports due to pain in some joints and exhaustion!!!

Does anyone ever had this problem? Could this be related to HCV?
Thank you

a month before i started tx i ended up in the emergency room with some pretty severe pain in my liver area, but they did all these tests and thought maybe it was a tiny gallstone. it didn't ever come back again. sometimes other things can be the culprit. i don't think that hcv ever really affected me before tx and i may have had it for 27 years and was only diagnosed about 5 yrs ago. you say you are 39. sometimes as we get older, other things can start to go wrong with our bodies that have nothing to do with this disease. i was 39 when diagnosed and i just started tx about 10 weeks ago. sometimes anxiety can also affect us and but stress on our bodies. hopefully it's nothing. my bloodwork was always pretty good and i had a low viral load. i am GT 2b. are you going to start tx soon? sometimes, as i said before, the stress and anxiety can manifest itself in weird ways. i wish the best for you and hope your pain goes away and turns out to be nothing! let us know. good luck!

Yes,  I have this same problem.  It is my gallbladder.  I do not have stones, so mine is caused from a congested liver, because the bile does not flow as freely from the liver to the gallbladder, and I have mild damage.  This will eventually lead to stones and more liver damage.
I have been maintaining my pain for some time with the juice of a lemon 2 to 3x a day, and will sometimes use sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) about 1/2 teaspoon mix this with the lemon juice and a little water.  It does wonders and brings the body's ph balance up to normal which helps with the exhaustion.  When I am having a lot of pain, I will eat a lot of fruit especially papaya or paw paw.  Joint pain is believed to be caused by stickiness of the red blood cells which the lemon juice helps.  You may want to take a potassium with the sodium bicarbonate.  Sometimes if I take it right before bed, I can feel like gurgling in my right side, so I figure I am draining.  I have been doing this for 2-3 months and feel great.  I am waiting for better meds to come out.
