Partial shot Inrferon

Fridays shot was short on the Interferon because I pushed to much out when doing the air bubbles I did get some of it but not the full dose should I take this weeks shot early or am I in big trouble now?  I never have missed a dose so unsure what to do I don't think maybe I got half the dose I will pay attention in the future if I haven't messed things up.

Don't stress over what you can't do anything about
just keep moving ahead on the journey.
You're going to be just fine.
Now you'll be extra careful.
I think lots of people make little mistakes along the way.
It will be OK...

Do these meds make us crazy or what? I carefully read the instructions with my syringe, ( I had been using the auto injector), all goes well and when I wiped with the alcohol afterwards, it felt slimy. Darn it! Now I'm worried that something went wrong. This was my 9th shot. And, I got a DVD stuck in my Mac. And I hate worrying. And I'm waiting for 8 week labs for VL. Oh yeah, and I almost overslept this morning when I needed to take my Vic. Thank goodness, it's the weekend. I need to chill, big time.
Oh, on a good note, I made it thru another day of work, a job that is stressful, physical and mental.

That happened to me I panicked but everything was fine. One week I had trouble getting cover off and before I knew it, it went through my finger. Fun fun.  I dread Tuesday nights but my husband takes cover off now. He is so relaxed he's in med field I get worked up about it :)

Ladyfox seems to be on the Pegasys prefilled which is totally different then the pegIntron redipen.

Peg-Intron Redipen is designed to be patient-friendly with features such as an easy-to-read dial-up dosing button for precise, individualized weight- based dosing of Peg-Intron, a self-priming action that automatically removes air bubbles from the pen prior to patient self-administration and a small needle size (30-gauge) to minimize patient discomfort.

Yeah, just dont shake the redipen around, and I just give the syringe a little tap tap, with my index finger...but dont see any bubbles. I would guess you didn't waste as much as you thought, but yeah, next time put in your contacts

Dont freak out too much aboit air bubbles. A little air bubble getting shot into fat will do nothing.

i missed half my shot in third week because i didnt connect the syring and needle piece hard enough so it all leakes out tge side.
.i was UND at 4, 8, and 12 weeks.

i think you will be fine if you got more than half in...my doc never even called me back on that issue! You can always call the peg hotline if your hepa is not available
.best wishes,
Laura

Just a thought. My syringes are prefilled as well but come with more med than the 180 that my dose is suppose to be. I always have to push a bit out to the 180 line on the syringe or I will get too much...Happy that things are settling down for you and that you can enjoy a round of moving around. :)

I am taking the Pegasys! Got a full shot this week and my tests and viral load came in as Undetectable  Negative (happy) Will never mess up a shot again and they are prefilled I thought I still have to push air out at top but yesterday I just put the needle in and pushed.First 8 weeks was hard I seem to be doing better now finally have some relief moving around and even went for a walk!

So still not sure -- are you using Pegasys or PegInton?  I think things should settle down for you soon.  At least I think the first 12 weeks or so are a period of adjustment.

I went down and looked at my syringe and your right  did not know that wow I feel so dumb! I didnt have my contacts in and always assumed I would get a bubble!  Well that solves all future problems they are preloaded I was very sick on top of treatment from the 2nd week with Sinus Infection and Vertigo really never noticed well now!  This site is a life saver and I appreciate you bringing that to my attention!

Are you using Pegasys?  Or are you having to fill a syringe from a vial?  I ask because normally there are not too many bubbles in a prefilled syringe.  With the PegIntron Redipen I just point and push.  No bubbles to get rid of and no pulling back to see if you hit a vein. Plus the added benefit of a 30ga needle.

I do not think you should dose early or double up.  Too, if you are taking the Pegasys, it is not weight based.  The same dose is given everyone so if you are under the norm, including men, you probably get more than you need every week anyway.

Just chalk it up to exerience.

If it was just a little bit, I wouldn't worry. The whole shot is 180. Did you have 135 or more left ? If so, I really wouldn't be concerned.

i would let your doctor know, but the INF has a very long half life, like 96 hrs or something like that.  what shot are you on?  it builds up in your system, which is probably why it takes a while at the end of treatment to start feeling better.

You are probably ok, but let your doc know, they would know for sure.

"should I take this weeks shot early or am I in big trouble now?"

No you should take your next injection on your regular day and IMO I don't think a dose reduction for 1 week is going to effect your treatment outcome.

Congrats on the 4 wk UND
