Peg Intron/Ribavirin - Nausea

My husband who has been on the Peg Intron therapy for 17 weeks is suddenly experiencing nausea.  His side effects have been mininal to date, but is it possible this is being caused by the medication?  Can this side effect appear out of nowhere at this point in time?  Thanks

Make sure he is taking the riba with food, specifically a nice high in fat food so that it binds to the meds and helps him absorb as much as possible of it and also so that it helps with the stomach.

I found ice cream and yogurt smoothies helped alot.

And...it was one of the fun parts about treatment hving all I wanted with a good excuse!

Good luck!

I had merry-go-round side effects... One day I had headaches and the next body aches - then nausea and then something else and so on and so on.

I don't think it is much to worry about - however, you should mention it to his doctor.

Ginger ale and crackers --- pretzels worked a lot for me...

But sometimes it felt like morning sickness all over again... sigh.

I did end up getting some meds to stop the nausea...

They have them in pill form and/or suppository form - you can use either.

Much luck.
