Regarding travel, on the first leg of trip, I followed TSA info and informed screeners at the airport that I had refrigerated meds including syringes. They took my bag with ice pack and proceeded to open my trial meds and opened the syringes. It was ridiculous and embarrassing- of course I was at ATL so don't know why I expected anything else. On my way back, I informed the screeners that I had meds with an ice pack. They peeked in, sent through x-ray and I was on my way. I guess the operative word being syringes- either that or the bad training of the screener. Carried everything in an insulated lunch type bag with an ice pack. I was travelling for ten days and between hotel room frig and buckets of ice to keep the pack cold, I managed to keep everything cool the entire trip.
I believe that Peg deal is a one-event deal. That is, each batch can be left out once. Don't leave it out mutilple times.
My experience is that flight attendants won't put stuff in the fridge anymore. They'll give you ice though.
I traveled while on TX, using cold packs in a soft waterproof carry bag works very well, you can check in as well. Pegasys is ok as long as it is not exposed above 77 degrees for longer than 36 hrs. Some pharmacists say 48 hrs.
Best to keep you injections on schedule if possible, but a 1 time change will not hurt.
I never missed a dose of either. I was late a few times taking Riba, but that happens. if you don't miss a dose and take your full dose every time your chances of SVR go way up. I was a partial late respnmder and treated for 64 weeks. I am SVR. Good luck
