Hi and welcome to the group
Age is not a factor in treatment. The first viral load test is determined by the treating physician there really is not a standard protocol.

When I treated with Sovaldi Olysio my doctor checked my liver functions and CBC at weeks 1 & 2. Then at week 4 did 1st viral load along with the liver function tests and CBC. Tested liver function and CBC at week 8 & at week 12 viral load liver function and CBC.

Next option would be here in the US most likely the soon to be approved Sovaldi ledipasvir single pill fixed dose combo should be approved October 10th.

But don't worry you have a good chance of being cured especial since you probably haven't had the virus long enough I am assuming based on your age to cause significant liver damage like cirrhosis making it that much more difficult to treat.

Good luck
Lynn
