Question for females on TX.....irregular menses?

Hi everyone,
I took my 3rd shot on wed night and felt better yesterday than I did last Thursday. I go to get labs today. I have a question for women who are on treatment. Have any of you started having irregular menstrual cycles? This is happening to me and of course my first thought is that it might have to do with the low platelet sx but I might just be paranoid.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Glad to hear your shot wasn't as bad as last weeks.  Irregular periods...yes but mine actually started before tx.  Is it possible that it just is a coincidence that you happen to be on tx but also its that time for menopause for you.  haha I know that is a hard one to gulp down as we have enough with just the meds without the added emotional weepy feelings compounded on top of all of it but depending on your age that is a very good possibility that you are going through menopause.

I haven't had any irregular periods or changes with my menstrual pattern at all. I am on week 44/48. I have had a couple of months where I bleed very, very heavily but my doctor told me it was probably due to the Procrit that I take and not the HepC meds.

I just took my 8th/48.  I haven't had a period since I started treated.  But I am having frequent (several timea a day) hot flashes!  I am told that irregular periods can be one of the sides effects.  But , then again, I am 49!  This may have thrown my into menopause!

me too! i have irregular periods now on tx. lighter or non- existant, from month to month. things were changing before tx but not as severely as once tx started. but, i did antisipate the possibility that this med could force the issue of menopause for me because i am right at that age. i know it affects us hormonally.  i am actually happy i'm getting some what of a period as my husband and i did not want that door closed completely, to the possibilty of haveing kids in the future, after tx. i am 42. i found out i had hepc at the fertility specialist through the usual testing there to find out why we were not getting pregnant. which for us is not related to the hepc. at least not fully.

Re irregular mentrual cycles. I have experienced this since the start of tx. My hepatologist RN said it's a common reported sx of tx. Just to be sure I also went to my gyn and I am not premenopausal. I am on 52/72 and everything has been irregular since the first month of tx. Menstrual sx are worse for me while on tx. Luckily I do miss some cycles. Glad you feel better this week. LL

Ouch...yes I forgot about peri-menopause and I vaguely remember my gyn telling me that yes I was peri menopausal, but I chose to ignore that. So thank you all for your responses. I guess it is a combination of tx and menopause. I just love this list. I don't feel alone at all because of all of you.
Thank you again

I am 49 and my periods were regular until I started treatment. I had a visit to the gyn just before treatment and after checking me he said I still had a long way to go before menopause.
I haven't had a period for the last eight months while  on treatment. I'm not complaining. :)

Oh yes!!!! I am 48 and almost 4 months post tx. During tx I would go 3 months with no period and then it would HIT! I would have very Heavy times that would last for 2 or 3 wks!!! My platelets dropped to 9 @ one point, but that wasn't when I had my period. I think these meds really work on us!!!!! (in a bad way)! You will be in my prayers, Much love, Cindee
