I am new to this forum.I just found out three weeks ago Hep C positive. I am waiting on viral load and genotype results. With consistent normal enzymes is there a good chance that my viral load will be low?

I found out last year about this time, and as a routine, my doc does  liver function.  It came back elevated only 3 points, in the range of normal for many standards but doc said she wanted to test just to be sure.  VL was 2611730.
Very High!!!!   GT 1a.  No, the numbers on ALT/AST don't reveal what VL could be.  But remember, VL fluctuates.
My liver functions continue to be 'normal' only elevated by a few numbers.  Biopsy is grade 0/1 (1/0?)  minimal piecemeal necrosis, and no fibrosis.   I am a "healthy chronic carrier".
But cryoglobulemia, thyroid and cholesterol are way way up!
Welcome to the club BTW.  Its going to be okay, as you can see, you're not alone!!  God bless.

That would be the guess of the century.......But it really doesn't matter till you find out what geno type..Thats really what you should think about....I had a VL of 12 and half millions copies,Thats very high.....But I was more worried as to what geno type I had.....1 ,2 or 3....And as it turned out it was 1.....48 week tx instead of potentially a 24 week.....See i'st almost a mute point ....You'll more then likely be going on TX........
