4 week results

I received my four week labs and vl <25 detected. I know that my results thus far have been encouraging but the fact that it is not undetected is extremely disappointing to me.  My research nurse called to let me know and all of my other numbers are still very good with just very small drops in hgb, WBC, and neutrophils. Regardless of all of that I am fighting back tears and confused. This could very well change the length and course of my treatment and well, it just *****. I know that this is gift already so don't think I'm ungrateful for how far I've come

Yeah, those shots can goof up perception easily, be easy on yourself and lets see what the next lab says.  I can totally understand how you might feel badly,,, I feel badly just being on the drugs,,,, I think they do color everything.
A perfect objective is to find that serenity, but dont forget its harder with these drugs.

You're right, Mary.  I took it hard this morning and I was especially emotional the day after my shot. I have to keep it together so that I can keep going. I am traipsing around Seattle today in the cold rain so I'm not doing all that badly. Still disappointed and looking for the serenity to accept that which I cannot change

Hey, sorry to hear you havent heard the und word., even if you did you still might not get randomized to stop at 16 weeks, you would have to be in arm 1 and you would have to picked out of the hat.

I think your next step is to get to that 16 wk where you learn what your choices are and hopefully find out what arm you are in.

My hgb started changing around wk. 12 enough to reduce the riba.

I hope you see that und in your next lab.  getting close.

Thanks to both of you for the encouragement. I am getting myself together here- have had an exhausting few days. Next pcr is at 8 weeks and I did my 6th shot last night so just a few weeks. Yes, you are correct that I would not have qualified for the 16 weeks but I could still make the 24 week course.  I thought the sensitivity of the lab was <25 so now I'm not sure. I can tell you that my coordinator was surprised that it came back detected with a vl of <25.

Hi  Debra.....certainly it is always disappointing to not see the words  Undetected on your report.,however you are still only at week 4.Yes it probably means you will have to extend treatment past  shortest time in your trial of 16 weeks. I believe you would have had to be UND. at weeks 2 and 4 if I remember to qualify for the shortened time.

When do they do a PCR again..?   I f you go UND.on your next tests it is still a good predictor of success.. Do you know  how low the level of sensitivity is on the lab they use.to consider a test to be UND.

Hang in...you are still having a good result.

mine came back at 299....now i'm UD...don't worry about it, you will be UD. it sounds like you are responding quite well. now the concern will be your CBC's....chill and be happy that you are responding so well. stay positive and don't sweat the small stuff.
