i was dignosed with hep c 3 years ago my count was about 5 million i continued to take carew of my self by 2007 my count was down to 1million my doctor recomended the inferon shots with the pills i started taking them i now have high levels of rumitoid autheritise it is very pain full some times i am not able to move i stoped the treatment and now am waiting to see a specialest to help me is there any none out there who had the same problem i wish i would had left it alone please help

No, it didn't go away but it is not as bad now that I'm not treating.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

no it does not run in the family i am 45 years old and was very active befor this i do have a appointment with a RA specialist in 10 more days thank you for the info i really apreciate it iv been in pain for 3 months now its been terrible maybe 9 good days in that time only because of the darvon and steroid shots but i dont want to many of those iv had 3 only and they last for 3 days each and it startes up again Thanks again

I have what appears to be either fibromyalgia and/or Rheumatoid Arthritis = during/after TX.

However, those are probably things that were going to happen anyway and TX just caused them to start a little earlier. Or they may go away.

I'm only 5 months post TX. Felt GREAT yesterday --- today I feel Good.

Hopefully this trend will continue and I'll feel better every single day.

It depends on the day - and how I take care of myself on how I feel.

EXERCISE is very important - even if it hurts a little - keep yourself limber and keep yourself comfortable.

Warm baths - massages, etc. Eat healthy. Check your calcium intake.

Does RA run in your family?

Give it a few months ---- or if it gets worse - then go see a specialist for RA. If it is so bad now that it affects your quality of life (not just achy pains - but you really can't move) then go now to a doctor. Or discuss it with the one you currently have.

There are meds that can help.

Did it go away the arthrittis? mine has been very bad i am taking pretazone and oxycontone for the pain some times i get a shot of steroids and it helps for about 3 days then it comes back i have an appointment with a rumitoid artheritis specialist on the 25th of july i hope it helps i am so frustrated  thanks for your help

I developed arthritis from treatment but I pushed on to finish.  Best of luck to you.

One of the risks of doing treatment. My RA Factor is high also but I do not have RA. I am SVR now for over 4 years and have CIDP along with a few other things, but you just have to stay positive and keep fighting whatever is thrown your way. Cross each bridge as they come.

Interferon can aggravate autoimmune problems. Any treatment decisions you make in the future should include the opinion of an immunologist as well as your liver specialist. You don't say what your biopsy results are. This is also extremely important info in making decisions - much more important than viral load numbers. 5 million to 1 million is considered normal fluctuation in vl.
