Risk from cocaine use

Hi,
I am not a regular drug user, in fact I only did cocaine once in my life with a close friend years ago and I don't do any drugs now.  My boyfriend also did it a few times in college with a few members of his fraternity.  I did not think it was dangerous (at least in terms of diseases) until I came across some hep c stats.  yikes!  I am seriously freaking out now. What is the risk for this?  Is it low risk or high risk?  I just see that it's "possible" to contract it but I'm not sure where it lies on the spectrum.

The chance of you getting it from one encounter is almost nil. If you are worrying about this now then perhaps you need some mental help for anxiety.

best of luck

Hep C does not come from drugs, it comes from the blood of an infected person. It can be spread via IV drug use or intranasal drug use if there is an infected person sharing the needle or straw used.

It would not hurt to get tested and put your mind at ease.
