Genotype

I got my results back reguarding my genotype. The report stated that they were unable to obtain a genotype from the sample. What does that mean?  Im still waiting on the labs to come back on the rna, quant p
cr, vl. Had this done once but had to do again because they did not have enough of the specimen. Hopefully tomorrow.

Katherine, the most likely result is that you aren’t infected with active RNA virus. That is, they can’t obtain genotype from disease that doesn’t exist. The other tests such as the HCV RNA by PCR will confirm this; but it’s likely your results will be good ones.

Guarded congratulations,

Bill
