Mine was really unskilled I'll never do it again,
They have newer bloodwork that can also tell you what stage of damage there is.
She needs to find out what geno type she is, for the genotype 1 there are better newer med available next year.
Better success rate and shorter treatment.
Good Luck
Not always painless. I had RUQ pain for 2 weeks afterward. Everyone is different. Maybe I just had an unskilled doc who did my procedure.
The only way for your mother to tell how damaged her liver is to have a biopsy. What geno type is she? When was she diagnosed? After she gets a liver biopsy her dr can recommend either tx or to wait for the newer drugs that should be coming out next year.Hepatitis is a slower growing disease and there might not be a rush.Only a biopsy will tell.Ask your mom to join this forum and she will get alot of info about the disease. She will get alot of info and will educate her about her condition. She can also learn how to read her labwork.I HIGHLY suggest That!!! An ultrasound isnt as good as a biopsy. It is a painless test..... cindy
