Starting tx's

I'm starting tx's on the 21 of November. I have 6 months of tx's  (genotype 2b). I visited the VA this morning had blood work and met with 3 Drs. who agreed to let me start. I was surprised to find out my body generated 20,000 additional platlets since my last lab work, which helped in their decesion (total 100,000). I had my doubts about self injection but not having them would be worse. I'd like to thank the folks in this forum since you have been a help to me.I will be with the forum for a long time and hope to meet many more new friends. Again thanks to all. Your a great group. Anyone have any pre-shot advice?

Hi Genotype2 here..... 5 shots to go and I have not needed any rescue drugs or anything over the counter. Everyone is different so just take it a day at a time. The shot is no biggie...worrying about it (I did) is so much worse. Work full time, have not missed a day.

Good luck to you.....

ditto rita on the not stocking up on stuff.  An advil here and there, lots of water really does help & watch out for crankiness.
I thought it was interesting one of the first things my NP asked me was if I was irritable.  Now I know why.

I think once you get the first shot out of the way and you are on the road it is a lot easier than the waiting to start.

Good luck!

I agree with Rita.Don't stock up .I st tx Nov.07 and have not needed anything but the coconut oil, peanut butter and lotion.Advil is good to have for flu-like symtoms if you get them.Think positive.Whether you worry or not, guess what ? You still have to start.Don't worry. It's ok my way ,so for.I do have to have the weekend for rest when needed so I'll be ready to go on Monday.Half day on Monday I drag but doable.Rest of the day feeling better...
Good Luck,
Tammy

Best of luck to you!  The only advise I can give you, Do not stock up on all kinds of things for side effects, wait to see how you feel, Advil would be good to have on hand...and for many people the first shot is ok,   I take my shot on Friday nights, many here do, so that I have the weekend, to rest etcc.

peace
