Rash and itch

Hi, folks! I'm in the 21st week of my tx, had servere rashes and itches strating about 3 months ago. My doctor prescribed some cream (with steroids), didn't help. I found out myself Vaseline seems to reduce the itches a lot, but recently it's not working, the itches are unbearable and kept me toss and turn till 4 or 5 a.m. Please share with me if you had this experience and the tx you found effective. Would it ever go away? Or it will stay as long as you take the drugs? Also, in many instnaces the itches go up in the scalp, what to do?

By the way, I lost about half of my hair in the past 2 months. Any suggestions for that?

Thank you all!

The itchy rash is miserable.  I had it for 3-4 months then it slowly disappeared.  I tried everything!!!!  Claritin in the AM, benedryl before bed, gold bond, aveeno anti itch, Curel healing lotion.  I washed with Ivory soap.    All these things make it a "little" more tolerable.  Vaseline actually made mine worse.   good luck to you, hopefully it will subside soon.

I also got the rash's and insane itching, benedryl helped at times, but i too take the atarax. I do not take hot showers and i use eucerin, citaphel, aveeno products for skin, and i may take a shower every other day, sometimes every 3 days (i am not used to this, but the less water i spray on myself, the better the rash gets. Oh- and please stay out of the sun, cover exposed area's and wear sunscreen and sunglasses. hope this helps.

The rash and itching are some of the more intolerable sx. Benadryl helped at times, but the best remedy for me was Hydroxyzine...I think it's also known as Atarax. Helped relieve the itching and relax me so I could get some rest. My scalp is the WORST which also intensifies my hair loss. Cold compresses help me, but it only helps on smaller areas.

I'm at week 34 and my hair loss has gotten worse the past month of so...shedding like a dog. I finally got tired of picking hair out of my food and messing with comb overs, so I cut it all down to an inch today. I feel better already...kinda punk. I tried all kinds of hair care products...and many worked for a while, but after a while it seemed a lost cause.

Hope you find something to get rid of the itchies soon....Pam
