Skin trouble on face and around eyes

Has anyone had trouble with little red bumps on their face or red, swollen, chapped skin on their eye lids? I just completed my treatment but I am still having side effects with my skin and stiff painful joints.  Any suggestions?

I'm still treating and having joint and skin issues. Its like Pooh said above:

"If the joint pain continues, see a doctor about it. You should also tell the derm doc about your joint issues. Sometimes the 2 conditions can be related."

I went to see the doctor and was told I have an autoimmune disorder called Psoriatic Arthritis which was triggered by the interferon...but will go away after my immune system settles down after TX. The doctor explained to me that its the onset of skin issues and arthritic like issues at the same time. What was a no-brainer DX for me was the way a few of my fingernails looked.

"Psoriatic arthritis is a form of arthritis that affects some people who have psoriasis — a condition that features red patches of skin topped with silvery scales. Most people develop psoriasis first and are later diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis, but the joint problems can sometimes begin before skin lesions appear. "

I'm not saying that's what you have. I'm just agreeing with what Pooh said above in that the two issue could possibly be interrelated. I have the "red bumps" as you describe on various spots (face, scalp, legs, belly) with the joint pain in my left knee and wrists/fingers.

I turned down a cortisone shot in my knee as I'm still treating. I use Arnicare (Arnica Gel) cream on all my sore joints...It helps some. Its homeopathic.

Go see a Derma and hopefully they can figure it out.
Good Luck

Well, my eyes and the little red dots by my hairline were better yesterday, but this morning when I got up they were worse than they have been being. I have out everything in the house on my skin and I'm tired of feeling greasy, so I called and made an appt. with the doctor for Monday morning.
On the up side of things my energy level is way up. My night time joint pain was so much less last night that I actually got the first decent nights sleep I've had in a long time.
I know what you mean about spending lots of money on incidentals since treatment. Lotions and creams for this and that. Hair care products for the loss. Meds for joint pain. Extra trips to th doctor...on, and on, and on!  :(

I had the same thing before and during tx. On the corners of my eyes and around my nose. It's getting a LOT better. I used steroid cream til doc said NO. I could only use clarins oil. It's pricey, but lasts a year. $40.00? I still have it around my nose. Make up and sunscreen all irritate my face now. I found another product. I'll go look at the brand and message you. It's less expensive and is a cleanser/natural moisture oil. I got it at the health food store. I spent a lot of $ trying to find a mild product.
I'm a little achy today, but 9 mos post treatment... going pretty good! I hope you do too. Didn't mean to get so chatty, but rough skin can be painful. Mine peeled too. If my experience can help you, I'm glad to pass it on. Karen:)

If it was me, I would make an appointment with a dermatologist. Be sure to tell the derm doc you were on Inf and Riba. The drugs can cause skin problems, especially skin problems related to the immune system. I had the same problem (or similar problem) and saw a derm doc. The lingering skin issues for me are psoriasis (for me anyway) and I have some prescription meds for them. The derm doc should determine what you have and also may do biopsies and blood tests to be sure the skin issues are not part of a systemic immune problem. Many systemic immune problems have skin manifestations.

If the joint pain continues, see a doctor about it. You should also tell the derm doc about your joint issues. Sometimes the 2 conditions can be related.

Both of these issues may clear as you get further out from EOT.

I've had lots of red bumps but mostly on my arms, chest and back.  I've had a few on my face but not many.  My lips and get chapped so I use lotion and burts bees for my lips.  Helps a lot.  Make sure you're drinking sufficient water as we tend to get dehydrated.  I also have ointment for my bumps which I should use more often.  I am almost done so waiting for these annoying bumps that itch to go away!  I wish I had more suggestions for you but I've also had stiffness and aches in my joints.  It's a sx so just keep walking and exercise when you can.  It will hopefully all go away when we stop treatment.
