Starting Procrit, any side effects

Im starting procrit this week. Im on daily infergen and weekly nuepogen. The nuepogen side effects just floor me for a full day after taking it. My body aches and I cant get out of bed. Im just wondering if anyone else gets side effects from procrit? Thank you Joe mc

Trish mine burns sometimes as well,  sometimes it it is cold I think, warm syringe abit palms of hands and as mouse said, go slow!

My procrit burns for awhile after, like about 10 or 20 minutes.  Is this because I'm injecting too fast do you think, or simply the nature of the beast?  No sides from my procrit so far, third injection this evening.

I get an occasional slight headache,   but it does make you feel better! breathing less difficult, a touch more energy,    

Will you be on a weekly injections?

I agree with you concerning neupogen, all these  Cells are made in the large bones,   neupogen starts artificially increasing manufacturing of them.   I dread neupogen night!  

Infergen is a tough drug Joe, the nightly injections take a lot out of you,  the difference between it and the other intferons, is it does not stay in your body, it also a designer drug in affect,  not made from the natural intferons in your body.  its the gorilla of all of them.  

procrit is a good thing!  You should be ok!

The first shot made me throw up, but after that there were no side effects whatsoever.

I did Procrit once.  Thats all the doc wanted me to do.  I injected procrit on fri, I retained alot of water that wkend.  When I went to see the doc the next wk my blood pressure was pretty high, I felt a little achey and nauseas, Basically it just magnified my sx from interferon.

I am gradually becoming anemic.  I recognize the sx from last time I did the treatment.  I am looking forward to going low enough to start procrit.  I felt a lot better, a lot more normal.

I'm on Aranesp which is a different form of Procrit.  Like jd I have a little bone pain for a day or two after the injection but nothing debilitating.   Procrit does burn going in so if you're a wuss like me, make sure you inject it slow.

I've been on procrit since October and haven't really noticed any bad side effects.  Maybe a bit of a strange sensation in my bones for an hour or so, but nothing major.  And the procrit has made me feel so much better - I can walk across the room without becoming short of breath!  So its worth some minor annoyance.
