Thanks for the info. I did finally get a call from my Hepatologist's PA (my own PA is on vacation)
and she had me inject 90. I was wrong about no md on call. Got a hold of one last nite after all my phone calls, etc. The leaking occured as I was injecting and came from where the needle is attached to syringe. It definite was not a few drops but like when wet hair that hasn't been towel dried the water travels from head to toe! Took it at 12 noon. Anyway, so far no sx. Except I want to call my kids and yell at them for not calling! So away from phone for me. Jenn PS: I love your paintings.
Hi Grandma. The PegIntron syringe is filled with 202ml of interferon. I set mine on 150. Some always leaks out when you screw the needle in. It's OK, it's supposed to.
I think as much as 25% or more is built into the process. If you lost the liquid by pushing on the plunger you may have lost more than you should have, otherwise, you should be OK.
Thanks for your input. I am not absoultely sure now if it was exactly 3/4. Peg RN told me to wait until tomorrow. I would rather do it tonight but oh well.....I have gotten in trouble with my MD & PA before so I will follow RN orders. What kills me is they don't have an on-call MD!!!! I guess if it is not a 911 emergency, we all can wait until tomorrow or when they get back from vacation!!! SH--!!!!!!
Thanks again, jenn
If you are pretty sure that you lost as much as 3/4, I'd do a second tonight. Make sure you follow up on the replacement, otherwise you'll come up short sometime.
