I, for one, wish you the very best of luck. I know it's been a long journey and I congratulate you on your perseverence and the great results. Stay clear and stick around. Mike
I wish you the very best and that you stay clear this time. Best to you and prayers.
That is GREAT news! I am so happy for you, and I can add another "undetectable" to my list. This is like family here, every day I feel compelled to stop in and see how everyone is doing. It's sort of like reading "Dear Abby", but it's our "Dear Heppy" column. I have started a journal of types (1a B C etc) weeks on tx and success rates. Just a way to keep track of the success. It seems there are a LOT more successes than the 50-50 chances they give us at the start of tx. If you can think of it toss in your type, weeks on tx/week of tx, age, Pegasys or PegIntron, that would be helpful. I will tell you later on how the stats are going. Augs/ohc67 1b, 48/10, 54, Pegasys.
genotype 1a
35 out of 48
46 years old
undetectable
pegasys (brain fog - heh)
Congratulations on your continued "undetectable" status. I wish you only a bright and healthy future. Please drop by and let us know how your are doing. I know I will be here for quite a while...After all, as you said and I agree, I consider everyone here family..
Best Wishes to you Always my friend,
Jodi
Dear Dirac,
Congratulations! You have always been great support for me and others on this site. Good luck with your future PCR and keep in touch.
Foreign girl.
Way to go! And I certainly wish you luck in the future.
Congratulations on making it through treatment!
Apart from treating the disease, I think that for the majority of us that experience treatment as an ordeal, treatment itself changes our lives - hopefully for the better. You know, more tolerant, more understanding of the handicaps people have, compassion for the sick, and so on, and also willing to reach out that helping or supporting hand where we wouldn't likely do so in the past.
I pray for your quick recovery from treatment and for you being cured.
I can't recall any posting that was rough or tough. I wish you well and am genuinely happy for you!
-Michael (Fatboy)
You are a true treatment success story. Congratulations for going the full course, clearing this virus and taking care of what needed to be done for yourself, and your loved ones.
I remember when I first starting coming on this forum and reading that others were long into their treatment (including you) I thought, 'how in the world will I ever get all this treatment time to pass quickly and keep my head above water with all this medicine and side effects'? How will I ever be able to do this? How can I function through this whole deal?
Well, I'm into 21 weeks of treatment and almost half way through it, heading towards that BIG 48 weeks. You, and others who have finished treatment and cleared are a HUGE encouragement and give everyone who is working their way to the finish line, great HOPE.
Thank you, dirac. I truly wish you the best now during this joyous occasion, and always !
CONGRATULATIONS!
WONDERFUL NEWS...
I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU...
BE WELL,
LIZE :0)
Congrats on making it thru a long ordeal, good luck on all future tests!!!
Congratulations. Hope you feel well soon.
This is GREAT news!
Keep us informed on how ya feel a month from now!
fabulous news, i wish you so much wellness. i'm still hanging around here, even though i completed treatment...still dont have a post treatment pcr...waiting for that is a good enough reason to stay on the anti depressants... the waiting to know is hard.
regardless of that outcome, you'll feel so much bettter in a week or two after treatment ends.
i feel precisely the same way about this board. it has been such a blessing and a saving grace. inspiration when i needed it, but most of all a place to give. never occured to me to think about where folks came from or the color they are, or age or background. we're all here together. imaagine this happening without a computer or internet.
just take a deep breath and be here for all of us that need you.
best
macky
Hello, Dirac,
I've been rejoicing in your success right along with you all year. We're in the same business, and it was good to read about how well you were functioning. I wish you continued success to SVR and a long, healthy life.
You hardly ever reported problems with tx. Did you really sail through, or were you keeping complaints to yourself? I hope you sailed...
I also hope that the sense of family and acceptance we have here on this board also surrounds you where you live and work. I teach ESL to students from all races, religions, and countries (about 55 countries so far); but more than language, I try to teach people to live and work together in peace.
Please keep us informed about how you are doing.

Dirac, great news. Good to hear a positive story. You are inspirational to all of us. Folks like you who have invested the time, maybe money, and made the sacrifices that go along with tx deserve some good news and good thoughts. OHC67, I'm a genotype 1b, on week 15 of 48, 50 yrs. old, undetectable at 12 weeks; or <600 (assay range only went from 500,000 down to 600), 180iu Pegasys/week, 1000mg Copegus/day.
I'm a couple of weeks behind you and glad to hear your news. Hopefully, a few years from now maybe, tx will be easier to tolerate and there will be many, many success stories.
This would be a good time for me to tell you thank you for supporting and posting on this forum. I know you have been a tremendous help to me and you have always been kind and answered everyones questions.
You are strong ! Keep your chin up high. You've worked really hard this entire time through your treatment and put each day in front of the other. I am extra happy that you are reaching that finish line and that you will receive good treatment and test results. I know everyone else on this forum shares in my feelings.
Since we both take procrit, I have a procrit questions. Do you know or has your doc told you how long you will take procrit after your last treatment meds? Or will you extend procrit past your last week at all?
Take care galen, please stick around and continue to share with us. We still need your help and a 'shoulder to talk on'.
Can you believe I'm commin up on my 22nd week? Whew !!
Congratulations Dirac.Wishing you the best and a Hepc free life.Newbie here.Geno1(no subtype)vl 5million+ grade2 stage 3.Anxious to start tx(even tho I know its hard).Have to see a pyshc doc on the 29th( because of past depression problems gastro won't start tx til pyshc doc gives the ok).If he oks it I should start tx a few days later.Praying he clears me cause I wanna live.age 44 father of 5.
You know, I have no idea. I will have labs on 9/29 and a CBC will be part of that, along with the usual PCR and liver enzymes. I guess it depends on the results. My hemoglobin dropped another gram in the past 2 weeks, so it is possible I'll stay on it for an extra week or so. Once the riba starts to clear your system it should resolve itself. I never had anemia in my life before now, so no reason I should off tx.
This is great news, congrats you did it and finished it. I'm very proud that you made it.
I have one shot left and my doctor dosen't want to give me a 48 week viral load test. How did you get him to do it?
Lori
Dirac,
What great news!
...don't forget us.
Shebee
Thanks all for posting your genotypes, ages, week on tx and Pegasys or PegIntron. We will be chalking up the resonders and nonresponders for our "yearbook" kind of unofficial by lil ol me. They will cost $40 and have your name embossed . . . KIDDING!!! Oh Im so funny. Anyways, thanks all for contributing to the data. Hugs, OHC
