that sounds like too possible right calls.
sunlight cause me probs also, but do not assume it's just that....could be...could be clorine...a diet item.....

of more concern is:
what is your iron at now,
still on tx you do realize the liver doesn't heal overnight. In fact some say very little if any fibrotic recovery takes place during tx, but begins more in ernest post tx.

you need your iron levels checked regularly and there are ways to bring them down, if too high they can do great damage...go get bloodwork this coming week. I would.

Thanks for your suggestions.  I actuctually went on line yesterday after I posted the questions and got some info from a medical forum.  My doctors - at the hepititis clinic at Hopkins in Baltimore -did give me some info but it made no sense and now I understand a little more.  And O - I forgot to tell you the most important thing - I'm on the interfuron.  Ooops.  So It's a reaction to the medicine combined with the hepitius.  Which is what he said but why from the hep if  my count is undetectable?  Which it is - my enzimes are normal, blood count normal, thyroid normal etc!  The condition is called Pseudoporphyria - which I tracked from another person onthe forum who led me to Porphyria cutanea tarda.  (Guess if  i was a Doc I'd learn some latin fast huh?).  Medicine reaction, sunlight reaction, perhaps to much iron stored in my liver and it probably won't stop till I stop the Interfuron.. 9 more weeks to go!

a steroid won't work unless underlying cause is related, if it's baterial or fungal you'll need something else.
You need with open sores to help them heal and dry up.

I'd see a skin specialist or even an oncologist familiar with reactions if your liver doctor doesn't know.
meanwhile, what happens if you use a little triple antibiotic ointment?

as far as your scrub goes....well,

the salt can irritate tissues big time....think about it, pouring salt in a wound inflames the tissue and burns like all get out. Antiseptic or not, it is pretty rough medicine. Scrubing itslef can also irritate.
Oils can be healing, but lesions also need air to dry up and close up, and oils creams prevent some of that.

you need to stay OUT of long and/or hot showers....half the rashes out there are caused by people soaking or overheating the skin when it is already so delicate due to the chemos.
Hope you feel better.

I'd start by discontinuing the salt and oil scrub. I don't know what kind of hepatitis you have...
but why not get a referral to a dermatologist?
