Calling all relapsers!!!!!!!!!

HCA
I would like ,just for curiousity to take a snapshot poll among relapsers.Must have completed treatment.
1) What genotype ?
2) Length of treatment?
3) Starting viral load?
4) Viral load/reduction as  tested each time during treatment, particularly interested in when first showed undetectible.
Obviously this is just general interest and in no way scientific, but fascinated to see how strong correlation between rapidity of response and sustainibility of viral respoonse among people in this forum.
Relapsere only please!

I am interested in hearing if you had any inkling that it was back and what made you think so.  Any comments in this regard would be helpful.

59 years old, cirrhosis
geno 1a
treated twice, 2001 for 60 weeks, 2005 for 48 weeks.
beginning VL 900k and 2 million, respectively
Round one, used all rescue drugs and did not clear.  24 week PCR ~8,000.  48 week PCR 24,000.  Extended to 60 weeks and VL spiked to >300,000.

Round 2, cleared between week 4 and week 8, stayed clear till one month post tx.  Six month post tx PCR was >5 million.

Our good friends stats must be represented.

He was a geno2 and fought harder than just about anybody ever did that I've ever heard of.

Sorry I don't know more info.

Also my great friend Kalio who was a geno 3.

1. Geno 2b
2. Round One 6 months 2004
   Round Two 12 months 2005/2006
3. Round One beginning Viral Load 1.8 mill
Round Two beginning Viral Load 175K
4. Round One-UND throughout treatment 12 weeks thru 3 mos
post treatment. Virus back by 6 mos lab.
Round Two-UND throughout treatment 12 weeks thru 3
mos lab. Virus back at 475K Dec 8th, and at 1.4
   ml on Dec. 28th.
Dr. B.C. says wait now until VX-950 release. Hate to wait, but that's all we can do. I also hate to post this info because I don't want others currently on treatment or contemplating it to be discouraged. I would do battle again tomorrow if I thought my body could handle it or that it would do any good.

male 57 yrs. infected 1970
Type 1a by doc report, 1b by transplant team test. who cares, 1 is 1
VL 2.5 million
cirrhosis
1st 2 weeks tx 1/2 dose due to dr concerns about my anemia
Start date 1/2/04
2/23/04  71,900
3/25     38,300
4/29     2,190
6/1      758
7/15     144
8/12     <5
decided to go 1 year beyond clearance date, undetectable til
6/23/05     12
repeated after 2 weeks and 4 weeks <5
stopped tx approx 8/7/05
9/7/05   97,600

Long, slow recovery from tx.  Now that I'm feeling better, I'm gearing up for another attempt.  New (big name)hepatologist agrees that induction tx w/Peg is best bet.  If not clear in first 12 weeks (the double dose period)I plan to stop.

Hi Mike and Beans, good to see you.  My best to all.

2Irish: Told by study doctor that i "WAS CURED!"
-----------------------------------------------
I hope this isn't the same wacko doc who you're now seeing. As a 1/2 hate to see you doubling up on the peg and extending these toxic drugs when some newer and shorter treatments hopefully will be available very soon. Vertex preliminary (4week post treatment, 24 week arm) data should be available within days or weeks. Good to see you droping by and wonderful to hear you're feeling great.

1A
48 weeks
1.5 mil
VL test at 12 weeks was wrong test ,tested again at 14 weeks clear to <10
That was the only test until 2 weeks post TX and clear. My doc,s wife I found out had terminal cancer so his mind was somewhere else during my TX. I had lots of pain and numbness in my arm and leg pain before TX that went away a few weeks after starting tx.One year later it is only slightly returned.  My BX was first graded at 1-2 then my new doc at teaching hospital graded same BX at 2-3. Had 2nd BX (it had been 5 yrs) and also after TX 0 1-1-2  looked much better alright some good news. Also VL 3 months after TX was 1/2 a mil. have had the bug for 35 yrs now going to wait out a better chance of clearing unless I get all my old pain back.later

I am in shock.  This is the first I have read that you relapsed.  Dam this insidious disease!  I haven't consulted yet.  I don't know if they will suggest another biopsy.  Personally, I think it is a good idea. I would consider double dosing. What were your liver enzymes before during and after tx?  You can get ahold of me at my screenname ataoldotcom.

4wk UND remained so throughout tx

I thought I really had the stats going for me. I could really taste SVR. Will always wonder what would have happened if I forced my Doc to extend to 72wks.
