Easier said than done, I'm on my 11th week of incevik, I drink a protein shake in the morning, with whole milk and a teaspoon of peanut butter. About 11 I eat some fruit then have lunch at 2 pm with my incevik. I than eat a small dinner about 630 or 7. Ten o'clock is a little tougher I was trying to eat good fat but ice cream, cookies and whole milk have more fat and it's easier to eat 5 oreos and a glass of milk at ten o'clock. I haven't gained a pound or lost a pound s since I started. The last time I treated I lost 40 pounds and looked terrible, so I'm happy to eat it this time. Peanuts, avocados are good fat. Klondike bars and oreos bad but much easier. I was working out 3 days a week for the first 5 weeks but once the anemia kicked in couldn't do it anymore. Good luck. If you have any questions just post. Joe
Thank you so much for your reply. That makes me feel better. I work out 5 days a week right now; pilates, yoga, walking and weights and hope to at least continue the yoga during treatment, but like you others are posting that they have to decrese due to fatigue.
I have been studying ways to eat good fat. I am going to try making some ice cream with almond milk and see how that turns out.
Thanks agian.

I eat 3 eggs & a slice of cheese for breakfast. Make it into a little omlet, with my 1st does of riba & inc, then for lunch , I usually have a yogart and some fruit, or half a sliced meat sandwich . For Supper, I have something that contains 20grm of fat, like a bagle with 2 ounces of cream cheese and a lg. cup of chicken broth , or If I am super hungry and can chow down, a big fat juicy hambuger with bacon & cheese, and a few French fries, followed by 2nd dose of Inc & Riba.
Then my midnight snack usually consists of Peanut butter and crackers, or I may even eat another bagel & cream cheese, or ice cream, Sometimes it might just be a 1/4 cup of whipping cream and some candy coated almonds, with my 3 dose of inc. And always drink at least 1/2 your weight in water ounces to keep your system flushed. It might be hard, but I noticed that I have less sx with Keeping food in me or at least eating smaller more frequent meals. Good luck & God Bless
hi kimberly ,
first of all i started out at 120 lbs so my dr said if i could get down 10 to 15 grams of fat each time that would be enough.. but dont go by what i say cause everyone is different...and i dont want to give you bad advise...
i just finished inciivek and am now on week 14 of 24 .. i never gain weight but i did gain 6 lbs on incivek . i hated eating at 7 am and 10 pm but i did it cause thats what it takes.. i had peanut butter and bananas or full fat cottage cheese in the morning... eggs with butter and cheese are good too.. i would make a big huge peanut butter and jelly sandwich and have it by my bed and take the pills and eat it and go back to sleep..
the worst sx i had were
1. the rash ..which was very itchy and made it hard to wear clothes and i had to use strong sterroid creme all the time to help control the itching
2. the anemia ... i am on procrit and now that incivek is done i dont have the rash any more..
3. nausea ... i controled with zofran.. i would make sure you have a perscription for zofran before you start
4. headaches and chills/fever .. take advil tylenol or codeine if necessary
i work from home but i dont get as much done .. i am a writer so its not physical and i dont have to deal with loud noises and bright lights..or customer service ... that would be hard
you may not have as much sx as me but if you do you will have to think about cutting things out..
and i have lost 3 of the pounds i gained ... just like joe when treated before i lost too much weight so im kind of glad i gained for the first three months cause i know its gonna be gone and im gonna be underweight soon..
good luck with everything
I am in Week 11 with incivek. I gained about 5 pounds in the beginning, but I have since lost it. I started out eating peanut butter and butter sandwiches with a glass of whole milk in the morning, an avocado and yougurt in the afternoon and usually ice cream at bedtime. In the beginning I usually ate dinner around 7. As time went on it became harder to eat and the things I liked in the beginning, I can now no longer tolerate.
My routine now as I come to the end of this phase is to have a glass of whole milk and 1 oz of cheddar cheese at 6:30 a.m. or a couple of slices of bacon. Around 11 a.m. I eat a banana. If I am hungry I might have a cup of soup like chicken noodle or turkey bean or yougurt around 1 p.m. At 2:30 I usually have 1 oz of cheese and corn chips (I count out enough to equal 10 grams of fat) and an apple or peach. If I am hungry around 7 p.m. I have a bowl of cereal or soup or a piece of toast. At 10:30 p.m. (when I find it most difficult to eat) I generally still opt for 1/2 of Hagan Daaz or a klondike bar or sometimes it's a glass of milk with oreos.
It's funny how your taste changes over the weeks. I have always loved avocados. Now I am not sure I will ever be able to eat one again. And while I can still tolerate the cheese and milk, I swear the moment I am done with the incivek, I will not eat cheese or drink milk for a long, long time.
At the end of the day, none of us really wants to gain weight or lose too much weight. But it is what it is and that's the price we pay to beat this virus. Good luck to you!
Two 2 days of INCIVEK left to go. My choice picks after 11.5 weeks are:
xg=fat
-regular old fritos scoops 1g fat per chip
-sycamore farm chicken salad 23g fat per 1/3 cup
-2 eggs 9g fat, microwave bacon 6g fat, toast with butter 3g fat, milk 2% 5g fat cup for good measure
-little debbie snacks like doughnut sticks 14g fat per & milk 2% 7g fat 1.5 cup plus
-claxton fruit cake 1/3 of 1lb bar 18g fat plus a little milk 2% 5g fat cup for good measure
-mild cheddar 2oz 18g fat plus milk 2% 5g fat cup for good measure
-all the ben & jerry ice creams are high fat
-haagen-dazs ice cream bar (the choc, vanilla on stick) get you all 20g fat or at least i think so----am out of them as i wind down the fat and stop incivek
-JIF peanut butter 3 tbsp 24g fat 9 (a lot of peanut butter, but i have always loved that stuff so with keebler club crackers you cut back the peanut butter and add more crackers
Hope this helps. Please make certain you read all your labels and calculate fat for yourself. It is you bode.
Hello I am usually so late to get to thes questions that my answers don't matter much. With yours I see that you are starting in November so I will give it a try
The first 4 weeks were the worst, I am a dibetic, eat low fat, low carb so I had to get a prescription for antinauseaI tarted out with 3 tablespoons with an apple or two
After realizing I could combine fats, yest I am slo, I would drink a glass of milk an 2 tbs of pb with the apples
Having eggs with cheese and glass of milk helps
A few slices of pizza is good
28 almonds would satisfy the fat requirement, once I got sick of that I mixed the almonds into yogurt or cereal
2 oz of cheese (did not seem like enough fat to me so I drank a glass of whole milk)
Even a PB&J sandwich
The main thing is you want about 20 grams of fat about a half hour before you take the meds. One time I did not eat enough fat and I got sick.
You can go look on the internet and see how many grams of fat each thing has, that helped me but my diet is still limited. Four more weeks to go, I can not wait to back to my regular diet. I thought I would gain a lot of weight, instead I lost 10 lbs, from what I can see mainly muscle from being tired. I am going to fix that in two weeks
I wish you the best, may the SX be kind to you during your treatment
Let us know how you are doing, ask any questions, there is always someone with a helpful answer, everyone is very nice and supportive here

I don't think weight gain will be a big problem. Last time I treated eight years ago I lost lots of weight, got rid of the big tummy I'd been growing for years and wore clothes that fit me in my 30's. I ate well I think because I was trying to stay well nourished so I wouldn't become anemic but somehow the food just goes right through you. I don't think an additional three avocados each day would have made a bit of difference.
