Treatment

The Dr took me off tx yesterday. They would like to put me on Infergen in a couple of months but I don't think I'm going to do that. I was doing ok before tx and I'll do ok after. I'll continue testing and if there is a spike I'll get some kind of treatment then (perhaps VX950 after its released to the public). I will keep you all informed as things occur. Until then I would like to wish you all the greatest success in all of your treatments now and in the future. Thanks for all your advice.

Good luck on Boston and of course will be lifting you up in prayer.  I hope you find strength returning enough to have the endurance to fnish the race.

I was surprised at how quickly I rebounded after stopping meds.  Seems like it was a couple of weeks and I was able to do things I wasn't able to do while treating.  I still find that there a moments though were I struggle with some of the simpler things, like long walks or climbing a flight or two of stairs, but they are fewer and far between.  Like some of my discourse with the beagle man below, the main thing these days seems to be the aches and stiffness in my feet and legs which may be due to the enormous amount of Procrit I was pumping into my body.

I admire your enthusiasim to shoot for the marathon, I had some friends who were both runners, 10-15 miles a day, so I knoww how grueling and commitment it takes to run one and if I recall correctly the Boston is one of the harder ones too.  Good luck.

I would like to thank the 2 of you for your unflinching support. Just to let you know, I have been invited to the Boston Marathon and I am going to accept. It will be on April 16th so say a little pray for me then. The tx was starting to wear on me and I didn't think I was going to be able to do Boston if I stayed on. But if my recouperation time is the same as the last time I was on this stuff, I should be OK. The last time it only took me a month to get my hair, spirit & energy back so I'm hoping the same will happen this time. I have 6 weeks to get back in shape after a 5 week hiatus. I will not give up the spirit and I will be coming back weekly to keep you all informed. To let you all know, I am not bummed. I am resolute. I will beat this thing or go down fighting. Again, I want to thank everyone in this room for their support and advice. I'll be seeing you weekly.
