i bend, you get the final word
that cracked me up immensely! I literally LOL'd!
deb
I just posted on the other side that my husband just took shot #48 and he's feeling great! As a matter of fact, he's outside doing yardwork right now.
But believe me, he's had PLENTY of bad days too! I came here to the forum for advice during those times, and got LOTS of support and good advice.
I recommend you keep coming to this forum.
You're going to have both good and bad days.
People here will champion you on during the good times, and you'll get plenty of support during the bad times.
This treatment is too difficult to do "on your own", especially when there are so many here ready to help.
You're 100% right that there is not enough good news posted. I have mentioned this myself as far as not having a balance on forum. Too long for me to go into why I believe this is so.
You have nothing to apologize for. You said NOTHING WRONG.
My good news is I just did shot 17 and I have felt great during tx except for occasional mood swing or attitude.(geno 2b)
I just was told I am slightly anemic 10.9, but I feel fine. I still have tons of energy.
There are many people who suffer thru tx and that has to be horrible to have to deal with, but there are many who don't post how great they feel too. Sometimes people 'feel bad' saying they 'feel good.'
That shouldn't be, but there are reasons, don't feel like getting into the history of it all, but I will say this,,,,no one can stop me from shouting from the roof top that I feel good. True friends will be happy for me, those that aren't, aren't what I consider a 'true friend.'
Stick around for as long as you feel you are receivng help, info and support. If that ends, then yes I would move on, but until then let the other stuff slide if you can.
I know how you feel tho because sometimes I feel the scale is tipping on the wrong side when weighing if I should stick around. If I feel stressed after being on forum more than feeling the support or help then its time to back off, take a break or leave all together. If you are new to forum, its maybe too early to tell yet. There are alot of nice people here so don't let one person make you feel bad or leave.
Good luck!
In two years here I have never seen anything but 100% support when someone posts some good news.
The problem always seems to come when someone turns it into an issue such as "why don't people post good news", as if there's some sort of conspiracy going on :) In
Bonnie's case, she's new here and no doubt had good intentions, I can also understand "Missy's" reaction.
People come here primarily for support and to get questions answered. They also often post how they feel and unfortunatly it's often not great but that's understandable considering the drugs they are on. But again, people post all the time that they're having a good day, etc.
The other thing to keep in mind is that the drugs, combined with the whole treatment experience, can make people a bit touchy.
BTW I had a great day and feel good. I'm also one year post treatment :)

When I posted early on in tx that I had no sx, many people said that they were happy to hear that, but I also had other "long time members" tell me "I was in the honeymoon stage, enjoy it now, cause things will change." And I could give a list of other negative comments. So that to ME was not being supportive. How about when I posted my diet and only cause we usually do exchange supplement and food choices and I was told I wasn't being compassionate to the one who can't eat on tx. This place is a joke sometimes. Why I stopped by today is beyond me.
I think that if you re-read that post you made back then you'd see that people weren't reacting to the fact you weren't having any side effects but to some other statments made about side effects in general and being representative, etc. In those types of threads, it's not surprising that those who have bad sides may not agree, or feel that their problems are being minimized.
I vaguely remember the "supplement" thread but from time-to-time that has often been a touchy subject here matter what anyone posts. My faint recollection is that you didn't say anything wrong but that someone jumped down your throat, but people here have posted numerous times about eating Cheeseburgers, Pizza, Ice Cream, etc, (in my case ham and cheese omelets with homefries) with no recourse, so really have no idea what that may have been about.
Didn't mean to get into your face and sorry if I came off that way but I truly believe that no one has ever been put down simply for stating that they're feeling good or not having any side effects.
The whole issue of whether or not this discussion group -- or any health discussion group for that matter -- is an interesting one and probably is better served by its own thread, as opposed to raising the issue within a thread when someone reports they're feeling good or bad. We've had some of those threads in the past, and not surprisingly they get quite heated with good arguments both ways.
Hope this finds you otherwise well.
