I went to that site and listened.  It was so encouraging.  Especially for a chronic non-responder such as myself.  I really hope that the rest of the Clinical Trials go well and that this new drug is on the market sooner rather than later.

Very encouraging news.  Particularly the comments that patients were achieving the same viral reductions within 14 days that are taking 3 months to achieve with Pegylated interferon/Riba.

Vertex are pursuing both monotherapy and combination therapy approaches.  They have speculated just 3 months combination treatment with Peginterferon (for genotype 1) instead of 12 months.

No major sides noted so far.

Usual warnings apply re early stage research.

Listened to it earlier today, but thank you for your post.  The text of the press release is on the "worried about my husband" thread earlier.

Very promising stuff.  As I have said before, it is early and we shouldn't make treatment decisions on the basis of this advancement but we can take solace knowing that there are promising developments.

Again, thanks.
