After first few days of Vic I would get weird body sensations, feel weak, and uncomfortable in the heat. Now at week 22, it's hit or miss. One good day, one bad. Fainted at work week 5 or 6 due to dehydration. Days where I really push the water I feel much better.
Best wishes,
C
I am finishing 44 weeks of Victrelis after a 4 week leadin - 3596 pills total and will be done Sept 14 - yes it can be done. Yes it gets better from the beginning - what I noticed - very tired, nausea, bad taste in mouth first --- then hair falling out until about 24 weeks or so, then really really itchy dry skin but nothing unbearable and I'm almost done 44 weeks and worked fulltime (albeit with some missed days). Early on creamy things (mac & cheese, yogurt, ice cream were the best) - the worst stomach problems I got were eating potato chips and salty crunchy processed snacks.
Yes, like you, my side eects immediately got worse, once I added the Victrelis. Your hemoglobin (HGB) may be slipping, that is what was making me feel so bad.
My stomach did get used to the Victrelis though, eventually...I think it took about 9~12 weeks, and then the Victrelis no longer phased me.
When I felt really weird, I would distract myself, by preparing ahealthy meal, eat it down, and then take a small walk. I found, that the side effects would usually pass, within an hour.
I felt the worst, from week 9~19, and I did 28 weeks on Victrelis. Hang in there, and i you have any specific side eects, you would feel more comfortable asking about privately, just send me a message~ Katy
I did Vic, int, reb, now 5.5 months since eot. When I added Vic there was a huge difference on side effects. I sometimes wondered if I should stay on interf, Reba only but did not want to treat for a year. Yes, Vic changes things. The hardest for me was anemia. Hang in there, hope you have all the support you need. I am glad it's over.
I am on week 9 and they do seem to get better. The first two weeks on Vic I spent mainly in the bathroom counting tiles. (I had no idea I had that many tiles in my bathroom). I think the key is to drinking plenty of water which everyone says on the forum for both PI's. Try to eat at least a banana or yogurt with your Vic. This will help your stomach tremendously. Hang in there....
