Viral Load after 4 weeks

Hi, I am a 22 year old male who was detected Hep C about 5-6 months ago, with a viral load of around 8 million. I just received my 4 week lead-in therapy results and my viral load returned as "undetectable". I am 6 weeks into treatment, and, trying hard not to raise my hopes, I want to figure out what this could potentially mean. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Just taking a guess here but when you say "lead-in" are you talking about doing Victrelis as a genotype 1?

If so then you were und before you even started that drug and that would be more then fantastic. If not even a four week Undetectable would be fantastic. Sounds like your well on your way to beating this, good luck to you and welcome to the forum...

I was 24 when I treated, my viral load barely dropped at all during the lead in for bocep.  Once I started on it I was undetectable almost immediately.  Treatment worked for me, and It seems even more likely to work for you given your initial response.

Just don't ever forget to take the telaprevire exactly when you are supposed to.

Hi,

my Genotype is 1,

the lead in was with RIbavirin and Interferon, and I am on the second week of those two with Victrelis.

Thanks for the responses and if there's anything else I can fill in with let me know

Generally speaking, being Undetectable at week 4 of treatment is excellent, and gives one a very good chance at attaining SVR (cure).

However, it would be helpful if you could tell us a little bit more about yourself and your treatment.

What is your Genotype?

Which drugs are you on?

You mention a lead in. Are your referring to a lead in with Interferon and Ribavirin?

Please let us know your Genotype and your drug treatment regimen and we can better respond to your questions.

Best of luck.
