Hi Bill
Last Thursday my ANC was .45 and WBC was 1.77
One Tues I took a Neup shot 300 mcg
Today my ANC was 5.58 and WBC was 7.73. I have never had those high of numbers before in my life! So I think the shot did it's job and quickly too.

I guess you will know it is working if you don't get an infection.
On the product insert it says:
Neulasta® (pegfilgrastim) or NEUPOGEN® (Filgrastim) may reduce your chance of getting an infection, but it does not prevent all infections. An infection can happen anytime your neutrophil counts are low. Look for signs of infection, such as fever, chills, rash, sore throat, diarrhea, or redness, swelling, or pain around a cut or sore. If you have any of these signs, contact your health care professional immediately.

When my ANC was .50 my WBC was 2.5
Neup works for the most part all of the time, however is it your ANC (absolute neutrophils) that usually would dictate whether neup is need or not.
best ..
