Can I catch hep c or any other diseases from sex toy which is new?

I have recently purchased a brand new vibrator from an online store, a very popular and recommended one. But I completely forgot to wash it before I first used it!
Is there any chance I could have caught anything from this, including hepatitis or hiv?
I have had very severe anxiety for a few months now and this has sent me over the edge.

What if it had been used before and sent back?
Then they would have leaned it I assume. What is their return policy? I am willing to bet they do not accept returns.

Also consider the odds, first you would need one of the small percentage of the population who have hep c (which I believe is about 1%) to have purchesef the item, used it and then returned it. So then, so far we are in the microscopic realm of possibility.

Then add to that if undisturbed on the surface the hep virus per the CDC "The Hepatitis C virus can survive outside the body at room temperature, on environmental surfaces, for up to 3 weeks." But that is only if undisturbed.

In any event if the devise as allowed to be returned, which I doubt, and had been not cleaned by either the prior purchacher or the vendor, and sent to you in less than 3 weeks since the previous usage and it had hep c virus from blood on the device that was able to enter your blood stream through an open wound. Can you see where I am going with this? Your odds of this happening are in the range of statistically impossible.

Just to add that hep C is  now almost universally curable so why worry about impossible infection from curable illnesses.

You would likely be better served by seeking treatment for the medical condition you actually do have which is unreasonable anxiety of contracting illnesses. You should see a doctor or counselor for treatment of your anxiety. If you treat your anxiety that will greatly enhance your quality of life. Or you can continue unnecessarily worrying over things that really cannot happen.

I suggest you consider the anxiety community forum for help with the health condition you actually do have.

And please seek treatment for anxiety.

Good luck
Thankyou. I know all this in my head but like you said, I have uncontrollable anxiety. Have seen a doctor and been referred for counselling for anxiety and depression, and also seeing a psychiatrist for ocd.
