I initially lost 10 pds within the 1st four wks.
Then I gained 5 pds over the next 25-30 wks.
From week 30-43 (present) I gained another 5 pds.
If I don't eat I feel really bad.
It is hard to force myself to eat when I feel like crap and everything tastes like metal and salt.
Oh my god I am going through the same thing... I used to own a gym and worked hard b4 treatment. I was told that I would loose a lot of weight so I put 20 lbs on b4 treatment... but lost nothing.... my treatment is now more than halfway through and I am trying to find some way to loose this fatty looking tissue especially around my waist...... I also cannot work out... have a ribo cough and feel crappie... but I have no problem eating...
The real problem which is worrying me is that my body is getting loose. Its looking like so fatty and made with jelly type material :) i dont want to be out of shape . I have heared as many ppl told that they are reducing weight and muscel size during TX, any one who has developed fatts during TX? I cant exercise as much as i used to coz it make exhausted very early. Any suggestion for me ??? should i keep the same exercise as i used to inspite of how much i feel tired or do anything else???
i have lost so much weight but that was a power booster to keep treating.. went from size 18 to size 14 and i feel; great
One other nothing i noticed is that before Tx i donot like sewwts a much and take them in a very little quantity. Now during Tx a change has happened and i used to love more seet things and try to take as much as i can. I think this change is due to Tx, i have appintment with my doc next month and will discuss this with him. But the bad thing is i am gaining fats on my hips and the side of back, its making me out of shape and my body is going to be bulky and loose.
I have gained over 10 lbs and I think it is because I can't exercise like I used to. I have a very slow metabolism to start with and now my Thyroid is off even more. I used to run 6 days a week now I'm lucky if I do it 1-2 x's a week. I am not eating more but I do try to have something w/fat in it w/meds. I have grown very fond of coconut ice cream for my PM meds.
I gain weight during the first 6 months of tx, I was eating a lot but I believe it was the Paxil antidepressive that was doing that... but at almost the 8 month it decreased I was not hungry and having plentyof diarrhea.
Don't worry you will loose the weight!!

I think you are 1005 correct. Thats the thing i havnt noticed, no doubt i havnt increased the quantity of meal but i have changed the food and shifted to more fat content food. But its working for me in terms of Sx. I agree with you that i cant do as much exercise as i used to and i wish to, so resultantly m gaining some weight and my body is started getting loose and bulky. No doubt we have to trade off between them, but i still think i will go for eating rich contents food and try to exercise a bit more. If i couldnt then i'll wait for eno of treatment to put that loads of fats from me:) .
Anyone has any better idea then plz tell me
Scruples you posted below a while back - it might not be how much you are eating as opposed to what you are eating. Those types of foods are very high in fat content and although they help with the riba, they are fattening as well. It's almost like a trade off --eating high fat foods helps us tolerate the meds better but then we start to blow up from them - also, I can't exercise like I used to - I have to rest when I get home from work where as I used to walk, swim, go the gym - not any more.
Dear All
I am at the 5th shot of my treatment. I have noticed one thing (i am doing this for the last 2 shots), if i take my shot at noon (around 14:00) and before shot i take some rich food like Burger, Pizza, Chicken Drum stick etc then the side effects are very much decreased. (Believe me, it really works).
I think the ppl who are facing tough Sx should try this. May be this can help them.
I have gained about 5 lbs in 6 weeks but I think I am starting to loose now. I think that my weight gain is because I am eating with the meds...it is interupting my normal schedule. I certainly don't need to gain weight.
This week I have noticed that everything tastes bad now. I am still eating with the meds but since everything has a bad taste I don't eat as much especially at meal time.
I have heard other people say they have gained weight due to eating with the meds also.
