death by tornado, death my smegma.... life without riba..... I am getting really depressed here. Think I'll take my ido on to bed...NO, thats now what you think!! Its all thats left of my libido.... I lost my last lib............
Thankfully that has not happened to me.That was Quick thinking! Glad you thought to grab the meds. Most might not think of that. I will remember that in the future. I live in Oklahoma and we have servere weather alot. Thanks for the info.
Take care, Debi
I moved frome Las Vegas to Nashville Tennessee and I am so not used to worrying about the weather. There are tornadoes here and don't know the first thing about it. I feel like Dorothy in the Wizard Of OZ-- "Toto,Toto...
We have only lost power for a few hours before TX. I guess if we lost power for any length of time I could put meds in the little insulated (travel thing they gave me) pack and put into this chest freezer we have outside. Someone said that will keep meds from freezing...
I have a built in cement shelter on a lower house level. The heck with the riba, I'll grab my wife and head down.
fishdoc. smegma? I hope that's a fish term.
Make sure not to keep the meds out for too long or they will be ineffective.
Our power went out recently and we left that fridge closed TIGHT. If it had gone on longer I would have had to go out and buy ice and make sure I didn't then freeze them either!
If a tornado be it F1 through F5 gets on top of you I think the treatment and medicatios will be the last thing on your mind. I do keep the ice pack bag in the freezer in case power goes out so I can keep the golden $$$$ juice usable. I hope none of you have to deal with a direct tornado hit. Dale
wow what a close call..i keep everything important papers etc. in a lock box beside my bed, the meds are all ready to be placed in a container if need to grab on the run one in cthe bathroom and the other on top of fridge..i had to leave once and not from threat of tornado but from threat of hubby being nutso..after that i got everything together just in case had to go fast..was it cool to look at? never even saw a funnel cloud lol..bummer
I was thinking about these new airline restrictions and our meds. Anyone carrying their meds on a plane will need the orginal container to bring it on the plane. I would hate to get stuck somewhere b/c I didn't have my script with me. Yesterday, everyone in London had to dump or pack all there carry on lugguage. I always carry my meds with me so they won't get lost. How would someone pack an ice chest in their luggage?
Guess you always need to keep the little blue packs in the freezer just in case. The INF is okay as long as it is clear, and can stay out of the fridge for up to 3 days IF the temp does not exceed 75.
stay safe,
frijole
As a rita victom (lost everything, including house) and a medic down in Cameron, I saw a lot of people with ice chests that plug into your cigarette lighter spot in your car, and darn if they didnt keep things pretty cold, especially keeping ice pacs frozen, they arn't very big and might come in handy for meds and your water and a little food.
