As can-do-man says, the results of the PCR are: "less than the detection limit of 100". That means that according to the results that you retyped from the lab test, your friend showed no HCV RNA on a PCR test that only tests to 100 viral copies/ mL. In other words, the lower limit of detection on that particular test is 100 viral copies/mL. The results say that that test did not detect any HCV RNA at 100 viral copies/mL or more.
None of us are doctors, so we cannot say for sure if your friend has HCV or not. All we can say for sure is that according to these results, your friend does not have 100 or more viral copies/ML of HCV RNA.
If your friend did have less than 100 viral copies/mL of HCV RNA, this specific test would not detect it because the lower end of its detection limit is 100 viral copies/mL.
Your friend could 1) ask for a more sensitive test with a lower limit of detection, 2) ask to be re-tested in 6 months, or 3) assume that if HCV RNA were present that it would have been present at over 100 viral copies/mL by that time and therefore is not present and stop worrying about it.

Plz try to say clearly .....Is he HCV patient/not..
v have dat much tension
Plz hepl us
When I read the result the first time it seemed doubtless now I am unsure since 100 is not a very low detection limit. I think the others might be right.
This could be where someone needs to distinguish if less than detectable means the absence of detectable HCV RNA.
But it could be as simple as: less than detectible means not detectible based on the detection limit of that assay. If that is the case then negative ' would be defined as less than 100 Eq/ml. So the long short of that could be like Cando says above. Your friend was exposed to the virus and cleared it on his own. Meaning he will always show presence of the antibody but not the actual virus itself.
__________
Still I encourage you to have his doctor go over this with you. You deserve the peace of mind a trained professional can offer.
You say in your first post your friend had a couple antibody tests and they were a few months apart. Then the doctor ran a PCR and it was less then the Det. limit of 100... In that time frame if he was positive ones viral load would have been much higher then 100. As a matter of fact it would have been alot higher so I don't see any reason for your friend to be worried.
My qstn was 1. Wat these all report says..Is he HCV patient?
You answer was ☞ If you mean "positive" then it appears so. The key word you mention is "Detectable" Your friend is detectable for the virus how ever low the result was. A Qualitative detects the presence or absence of HCV RNA and is reported as either detected (positive) or not detected (negative).
But the test result is,
The name of test is HCV Qualitative real time -PCR
Test describtion Result[viral copies/ml]
[HCV Qalitative real time PCR] [ less then detectable limit 100]
Wat it is saying??
Is it delectable or not......what is Less than delectable limit 100??... I think it mean something dectected during test ,am i right ???? .Is it mean Is he HCV Patient???
Plz explain me...
Wat is PCR ?? Is it nay method of testing HCV??
For finding HCV wat test he can do ?
Hope your valuble answer
Srry In my previous post result was not clear
The name of test is HCV Qualitative real time -PCR
Test describtion Result[viral copies/ml]
[HCV Qalitative real time PCR] [ less then detectable limit 100]
Wat it is saying??
The name of test is HCV Qualitative real time -PCR
In that report ,the result there is not mentioned detectable/not detectable or negative /positive the result they mentioned only like this
My friend test report first page i write down below
Test describtion Result[viral copies/ml
[HCV Qalitative real time PCR] [ less then detectable limit[low100 l viral copies/ml]
what it is saying??
and below that they mentioned on that page ...it may general or not i dont know.....
Kindly note, amplification of internal control in the assy indicates of PCR inhibitors is the given sample and minimal or no degradation of celllular RNA however a small number of sample may show the viral specific RNA degradation .kindly correlate clinical for conversion to WHO international units [IU] :1 IU corresponds to approximately 3.0 copies/ml
Test indicators
viral load measurements provide an indication of viral raplication, and there by serve as a valuable tool to guide intiation of the therappyregimen and response to treatment
Test specifications
RNA explasion from the plasma is carried out followed by cDNA synthesis, the real time PCA assay with fluorescein labbled Taqmar probe is used in the quanitatation of HCV particles the test was devolaped and perfomence charactaristics determined at molecular medicines RLS the specificity of the assy is 100% and sensiitivity of the assy which measures amplification of the virus in the exponential phase of the reaction enables detection of 100 viral particles per ml..the test unique in its ability to detect two fold chances in the viral load .A three point standard curve is plotted using serially defined copy members of HCV particles with linearity of curve validating the quality of the assay A representative gragh is show in the figure
Clinical significance
the assay is used to detect HCV viral load even prior to immunological sero conversion and fluctuations of viremia in anti body positive chronic patients undergoing therapy ..it is used for initial quantitaion of viral load and seriel samples from the patient will enable assesment of efficacy of treatment..
Limitation of the assay
Pressence of PCR inhibitors may interfere with RNA amplication .A low viral load below the limit detection will be undectected

plzzz help
You can scan and post it in the photo section of your profile page.
OR
you can type in the results word for word, every word in the report exactly as it is written.
I agree with Ca do. It is very possible your friend was exposed but does not have the actual disease.
Tnx alot for your valuable answer......I have a copy of that HCV -PCR ...how i can send....Is it possible to scan and post it here?
or...
I am just guessing here since the post is a little confusing, myself I think your friend tested positive for the antibodies but was Undetected by the PCR. Meaning at one time your friend was exsposed to the virus but cleared it on his own...... If this is the case your friend has nothing to worry about.......... But like Pooh said if you have a copy of the test it might clear things up................
I will try to respond to your questions:
"Wat these all report says..Is he HCV patient?"
HCV RNA test, Qualitative may be used to distinguish between a current or past infection. It is reported as a "positive" or "detected" if any HCV viral RNA is found; otherwise, the report will be "negative" or not detected."
Do you have a copy of the test result? If you do, please type in the exact wording of the test and the test result. It should say "Detected" or "Undetected" on the result. The wording is very important which is why it would be best if you can type the exact wording of the test result so we can better interpret the results.
"Wat is the consequences of HCV?"
Sometimes a person can have chronic Hepatitis C and have little liver damage. Other people have chronic Hepatitis C and have progressive liver damage. Therefore, some people live out their lives with little or no liver damage. However, that is not true for everyone. People who have chronic Hepatitis C risk having increasing liver damage and some go on to have severe liver damage and liver failure resulting in death (if not treated).
"Wat is diffrence between Anti HCV Reactive and ,HCV positive..."
Anti-HCV test detects the presence of antibodies to the virus, indicating exposure to HCV. This test cannot distinguish between someone with an active or a previous HCV infection. Usually, the test is reported as "positive" or "negative." There is some evidence that if the test is "weakly positive," it may be a false positive. So, in other words, the Anti-HCV test can tell you only if he was exposed in the past, not whether he actually has chronic HCV. The immune systems of about 20% of people who are exposed to HCV are able to fight the disease off and they need no treatment. They no longer have the disease. However, they will always carry the antibodies.
"Wat is RNA??"

"About that Treatment??"
Treatment is going to depend on several factors:
Does he have a current chronic Hepatitis C infection.
If he does have a current chronic infection, what Genotype is he.
The Genotype will determine which type of treatment he will do.
"Is he any problem with sexual contacts with his partner?"
While Hepatitis C can be spread through sexual contact, it is rare. Hepatitis C is spread through blood to blood contact. Therefore he would have to be bleeding while having sex and his partner would have to have an open wound or cut. His blood would have to get into her bloodstream. This is very rare. Most people on this forum have been married for years and their spouses/partners do not have Hepatitis C.
So, first he has to find out if he has chronic Hepatitis C (or was he just exposed but does not have the disease). If he does not have chronic Hepatitis C then he does not need to do anything or worry about anything because he does not have the disease. If he does have the disease, then he should ask his doctor about getting a Genotype test, a liver biopsy, and treatment options. The treatment will depend on his Genotype.

2. Wat is the consequences of HCV?
☞ HCV is a potentially life threatening chronic liver disease. This question alone needs its own post. At minimum at this point if your friend drinks alcohol it is time he might want to stop until you have more info. Here is more detail: http://www.natap.org/2009/HCV/051809_01.htm
3. Wat is diffrence between Anti HCV Reactive and ,HCV positive...
Wat is RNA??
☞ Testing positive for HCV Antibody means your friend was somehow exposed to the virus. That is what his test showed. He is positive for the Antibody.
15-20% of those exposed to HCV clear it through their own immune system; the rest go on to have chronic, active HCV. Having another antibody test was not really necessary since even the people who manage to clear the virus on their own will always test positive for the antibody. The value of the antibody may or may not change over time based but the important thing is that it will always be there.

The doctor's suggestion for the PCR (a quantitative test) was not a bad idea. Your friend might wish to schedule a follow-up visit and ask for a explanation of the results you outline as well as what the next step should be. You state the values of his liver enzymes but not the reference interval. His doctor can discuss the many and varied possible implications of this
I hope others post since the questions you ask are detailed and deserve more detail and insight than this one post.
