My liver growls at the mere thought of a slightly chilled carafe of Peg-Chardonnay - served along side an appetizer of baked Portabello Mushrooom, drizzled with a delicate Neupogen sauce. For the entree - stuffed Mannicotti, smothered in a rich Procrit Bolognese sauce. And for dessert - Tiramisu, lightly dusted with riba powder. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Do you think we dare tell Scott of this culinary delight??? I'm afraid he wouldn't be able to resist.

That sounds like a plan. It is especially good to hear that you're more at ease today about this. It has to pretty reassuring to have them not be overly concerned about the results. As you stated, they see this and much more every day of the week. And retesting next week - if you decide that's in order - will take away 3 weeks or so of further waiting on information.

As for me - just another day doing the Combo Mombo. All-in-all, things are going pretty well. Shot #32 is on the menu plan this weekend - along with more fistfulls of riba. NOW THAT'S LIVIN'!!!

Thanks for asking, Mike. Hope your weekend is a good one.

Let me tell you from the males functional point of view. Once in a while the urge is very, very strong and the passion is intense. But like I said, only once in a "great" while.
I was on TX twice before, my poor wife, I had no desire, none a all.

This time I think the AD might have changed things a little.

As others have recommemded, enjoy what you can, while you can.

The last I heard was "don't worry" from my coordinator and "let me look over the labs" from my surgeon. That was Monday. Today a friend of mine was at the clinic and my surgeon was looking over his labs and said "these look good - better than Mike's". My friend responded that he had spoken with me and that I said I was concerned. The surgeon said "if we couldn't fix it I would be worried but it's nothing  we can't fix". Well, so much for the HIPPA guidlines! Really I could care less about that. We are all transplant recipients so no one cares and it's kind of like the old days when nothing was confidential - it's almost refreshing in a way. So I don't know anything more than I did when I got my labs. In a way, no news is good news because if there was concern they'd have had me in there right away. But these guys are not your regular hepatologists in any respect. They deal with so much very serious stuff that they rarely get alarmed. When I started tx in 2000 they just had the meds shipped to me - no training at all. Then they sent a 10 vile package of Epogen and again no training. I guess they figure we've been through so much that self injecting is small stuff that they needn't bother with it. And they're probably right about that. If I don't hear anything by Tuesday I'm going to ask to have labs drawn Wednesday and I'll have the results of the cbc Thursday at the latest and if I have a Heptimax I'll know results the following Monday. Does that make sense to you? In the meantime I've relaxed about things and will just wait and see what they say. Thanks for asking. I hope you're well and happy my friend. Mike

Mike:

Have you heard anything back yet about the consultation your doc was going to do with your hepatologist and transplant docs?

Hope this finds you doing well.

I had to giggle...I can picture your new restaurant endeavor....

From the a la Carte menu---A delicate, glistening syringe simply LOADED with Peg-Intron, sure to satisfy even the most hearty of viral appetites, accompanied by a colorful and eye-catching array of Riba--a treat for the palate, as well as the liver...

I'll just get my coat and be right over.  Table for two!
