I am sorry to hear about the relapse and that you are now dealing with some pain.
I have had this pain on my right side since I was acute..I got really sick and it was the only time my alt and ast have been elevated in the past 8 years....now I am done treatment, still UND (as of my last 24 wk PCR) and the pain continues!? I am hoping it is FOOD!!
I'm right with you feeling "anxious and scared" when it goes off and on throughout the day. It is a very uncomfortable feeling. I always associated it with the HCV..I hope I am wrong.
Since all tests are okay I guess maybe experiment with some different foods, try to eat smaller portions. I suggest getting a scan done if you have not to check out the gall bladder, liver and surrounding area.. just for some piece of mind. It made me feel better to hear "everything looks good."
I have heard of phantom pains in that area from many..but the important part is all your tests look good and the new meds are not too far off.
Best wishes,
Laura
well i ate a hamburger for the very firsttime in mths and after that i started feeling awful...so food does make good sense...ii seen gi not long ago they seem to think iam a okay so far except relapse..waiting on future eds to come out for relapse situation like mine....
The liver has no nerve endings in it, so it cant actually ache, butif it is inflamed and there-fore larger than it's normal size,it could be pressing on other stuff around the liver, that has nerve endings. It could also be an enlarged spleen.
I always felt like food that was hard to digest, such as too much red meat, and too much pizza (contipating foods) were hard on my liver.
I found pain relief from eating artichokes. I also felt healthier after eating warm, sauted veggies, such as cabbage, celery, squash, green or red peppers~ a blend of different colors, etc.
Loose Leaf green tea, and coffee (organic and non-processed foods most ideal) are also thought to be liver friendly.
I know that people who are cirrhotic are supposed to stay away from red meat however I understand this has more to do with much protein which results in an increased amount of ammonia in the blood.
There may be other reason for upper right quadrant pains that are unrelated to what you eat. I saw you were stage 2 grade 2 a while back and relapsed. Have you seen a Hepa or GI lately? Unfortunately having normal labs values under these circumstances does not always mean a whole lot.
I saw you joined the GERD Community ~ I hope that helps.
I hope you find an effective way to deal with your anxiety as I know all too well how debilitating it can be.
Take care
