procrit can give you pain in the limbs and for the first few shots, some flu like symptoms. These get easier as you go along.
My dad is on Procrit shots and his eyes are red and itchy. His arms recently started up with the rash (on arms, deep red and pustules). He was on Renvila for a couple of dialysis shots he had. The doctor has not discontinued the Renvila but it is mainly for people on dialysis treatment. We are discontinuing this and will try the Hyland's Calendula Spray for his eyes.
Thanks for sharing!

The vitamin E is a good idea, I am going to try that. I will let you know if it clears up...thanks!!!!
Sorry to hear you're so tired. Unfortunately, it takes awhile for Procrit to kick in and you probably won't feel a positive effects from it for 2 or 3 weeks. It sounds like you are still suffering from the influence of low red blood cells, which will make you feel exhausted.
Great idea about the sea water. Here in the great northwet, you need a wetsuit or dry suit to immerse yourself in the ocean without getting hypothermic! Won't help much with that rash.....
Yeah, the water is cold in San Diego too, but I just rub some on me. But maybe buy some sea salts and mix with water and just rub it on you or maybe Epsom salts will work. It has been a Miracle for me. If you saw the rash I had you'd throw up. It's gone now and when it starts to show up again I just go out and rub the salt water on me (every couple of days)
Hi. I just went through a bout with the eyelid rashes. Itchy and sore :( I decided to open a vitamin E capsule and at night I smeared it all over my eyelids and slept with it on (charming)!I also stayed away from the eye makeup for a few days (also charming). Also pumped some additional water as I do for any of these lovely "pop-up" sides and it is very much better. Good luck. I hope yours clear up quickly too!
ambush :)
The cortizone did the same thing to me too. It stung and didn't seem to help at all. In fact it seemed to get worse. Try the salt water. I'm curious to know the results from you.
I started 40,000 units of procrit weekly injection 4 weeks ago. I believe I felt the results from this medicine on about week 3.
I really don't think that I've had any unusual side effects from it. The only differnce is that I feel way more leg pain than I ever did. The leg pain just started a couple of weeks ago but, maybe it isn't from the procrit. Don't really know if it is.
Hi - I had itchy eyelids at the start of tx. The Combo Survival Guide recommended Hyland's Calendula Spray. I got some at Wild Oats and it has worked very well.
Hi all, I have trouble with the eye rash thing after two months post TX. It was very mild throughout TX & went haywire as soon as I finished. My 12-year-old had some friends over the other day & before they arrived, I jokingly told my son I would wear sunglasses so as not to frighten anyone. Way to fast, my son responded loudly, thank you mom, thank you. Anyway, I tried all the usual over the counter stuff & most made it worse. Eventually I found that a mix of good quality essential oils did the trick in clearing it up faster. I use a majority of jojoba oil with a few drops of lavender oil, aloe oil, teatree oil & vitamin C oil. This mix will not be for everyone as there maybe something in the recipe you are allergic to. However, if you do not have any allergies, jojoba oil is more of a liquid wax & seals in all the good stuff. You can use this mix all over your face & other body parts as long as you don
The ocean water is a REALLY good idea! I never even thought of that. My annoying problem right now is that I have a rash on both eyelids. It stings pretty badly, ESPECIALLY when I put cortizone on it...the cream seems to leave it even more red than without it!
I've been on Procrit for 32 weeks now and have never noticed any side effects. The peg and riba can come out of nowhere, tho, and knock you to the ground occasionally.
