You're right. Herbals are regulated in Germany. (I wasn't aware of Switzerland, but I'm sure you're right.) That actually means they are more careful with the claims made for herbals, not less. Much of what is claimed for many herbals in this country, including some claims for milk thistle, are not backed by research in Germany. What we get over here unfortunately is overwhelmingly snake oil. We don't get that good German research.
If I understand you correctly, I don't agree.
Milk thistle is unregulated in North America but I believe is highly regulated in Europe, particularly Germany and Switzerland.
Jack – I'm sorry to seem so harsh. I'm someone who's had his day with herbals but, what voodoo science are you listening to? What do you mean MT makes things stream away fast . . . to the Pegagsys and Riba might stream away faster? Pegasys and Riba are Western medicines. That means their efficacy is established through scientific testing. There is zero, zip, nada scientific evidence behind the claims you are making for milk thistle.
There is a huge herbal industry that makes a fortune on untested, unverified medical claims. They are the equivalent of 19th century snake oil salesmen. They say anything and are entirely unregulated. They are responsible to no one. You can't even know when you take an herbal whether the actual substance is in your preparation. It's o.k. if you want to take this because it will do no harm. But why bother with myths imho?
I asked because I know MT makes things stream away fast out of the body and liver, while Pegasys and Riba tappering for a while also after EOT, so I am affraid that the Pegasys and Riba will stream out faster then they are expected to do.
Thank you,
Jack
MT should be OK. Its an anti oxident and any anti oxident is a good idea after Tx.
Personally i would add NAC, Taurine, TMG and ALA.

Possibly the best answer is 'It probably won't do any harm'.
