blistering

I'm getting nerve blistering that is consistent of shingles and think it’s from the HCV.  The painful lesions do have the black center(s) and on the center as defined from the WebMD site.  However, some of them are elongated with several nerve exposures and really painful at times.  All of these lesions are around the sub front trunk stomach area.

My wife and I are both HCV positive and we've both had shingles. Shingles, or herpes zoster, is actually caused by the chicken pox virus. Apparently if you've had the virus you carry it around with you but it is subdued by your immune system. Hepatitis C can be a tremendous strain on the immune system and a flair-up of zoster could be the result. Your physician can prescribe antiviral tablets and creams. Zoster can be vary painful in that it can cause severe pack pain and headaches. It's best to have it treated as the discomfort can last for months.

Sounds like shingles to me too. Are they all on one side? I know shingles will be on one side or the other, not both.

I’m unfamiliar with your condition as it relates to HCV. Has shingles been ruled out? Over the years I’ve heard a lot of complaints about HCV, and this doesn’t ring a bell. Have you brought this to your doctor’s attention, and if so, what was their take on it? Maybe it's time for a referral to a dermatologist?
