Well....one possibilityis she is not referring to her CBC panel, but to a Special Chemistry panel, whichhas something called "Haemoglobin A1c (NGSP)", inwhich the normal range is 4.3-6.1
Hopefully, more shall be revealed~
Under 8 for hgb, merits a blood transfusion. Most people are unable to get off the couch, at that level. I know fellow Treating Heppers, one woman was as low as 7.9, even on riba reduct and Procrit, but she hung tough, and finished out her Tx in the late 8's.
Another guy I know (Txing) went down to 6.5, and was hospitalized and transfused. His Tx was stopped, also
I guess I give Nan more credit for possibly being tough. I agree that it is probably not the hgb number, but I have seen stranger things...Mark
Probably, it sounded like you were doubting it. I have seen alcoholics in the .400 range standing there and talking to me. It is incredible what the human body can adapt to. Sorry if I mis-understood your post...Mark
I seriously don't think Nan would be able to type this post to begin with if it was truly 3.5
I don't doubt what you say. I think you missed my point.
Go ahead and google it, you are not correct. If you don't know how, I would be happy to do it for you...,Mark
Anything under 7 you wouldn't hear the knock at the door.
I thought the same until I googled it and found reports of Jehovas Witnesses that would tolerate levels below 5, because they would refuse blood transfusions. I would still confirm that this is the correct hgb number. If it is, it is real low and probably dangerously low. You must have felt very weak...Mark
Yea that can't possibly be right. Agree with FI ....can you type out your lab report?
Sounds more like an RBC value than an HGB number. Have the lab report results?
