Thanks for your suggestions . Im checking site out and going to try some biotene Doc says may be b2 deffiency so were taking that .. We will see what happens in a few days . thanks again
Treatment caused my tongue to feel like it was on fire 24/7. It started with my tongue turning bright red, then I had a white film down the center. Even toothpaste caused it to burn.
The doctor took cultures but came back with nothing.
I started to use Biotene toothpaste (I was quite skeptical at first and with a price tag of $14, I put off buying it for a while) and an enzyme lozenge that sticks to the roof of my mouth at night. No more tongue on fire.
It's been a few weeks now that I can actually speak normally and my tongue isn't on fire all day. I haven't tried to eat any spicy foods yet... I love spicy food and can't wait to dig into some jerk chicken. But I haven't tried yet, afraid of setting my tongue on fire again!
Sorry to hear that you've had such a rough go of it and I hope you can get that tongue under control. It suc#s.
Oops brain fog. Here it is http://www.colgate.com/app/CP/US/EN/OC/Information/Articles/Oral-and-Dental-Health-Basics/Medical-Conditions/Dry-Mouth/article/Burning-mouth-syndrome.cvsp
Hi Joeal, congratulations on achieving svr and I am sorry to hear of your other struggles. When I first saw your post I throughout you may have thrush and were probably treating. Not the case though I see. I am guessing this may not be a common factor for liver disease since others have not chimed in. My damage is not yet severe and I am afraid I have no insights. Since no one else knowledgable hs chimed in I thought I would dig up an article I bumped across when looking for info on thrush. I t may have no bearing at all on your symptoms and root cause but maybe it will help you with questions to ask your doctor.
Best wishes and hope you are feeling better soon.
