Procrit

Well I got my blood work results today, I still don't show any virus but the nurse told me I
have to go on procrit cause my red blood cells are to low and I'm anemic. Does procrit make you sick?
She said I would be on it one shot a week for a couple of weeks and then maybe only every other week or once a month. Does the procrit make you feel better? She told me that I would have to be on the infergen for 11 months since I cleared so quickly. Man
that's a long time.

I was on procrit felt better after 2 shots was at 15 drop to 11 brought me back up to 14.4. Didn't sleep as much not so achy.

Like Jim, I never could have made it through my long 73 weeks of tx without the procrit.  The only side I noticed was that I felt BETTER!  PS Patches, I got a call from my doc yesterday afternoon.  I'm SVR.  The infergen works. ; ]  Stay strong

Thanks for you help. I'm just really scared of another medication. But gotta move on with the treatment.

I worded a sentence unclearly. Procrit is underused because of its expense, rather than because there are some risks. Weigh the effect of no oxygen getting to the cells due to anemia into your decision.

Procrit (epo) is often used by liver specialists for ribavirin-induced anemia on treatment. Without Procrit, I never would have made it through treatment.

internet age, google=procrit sideeffects=which is worse, risk of procrit vs risks of anemia, most will take it receiving benefit. It it not NOT used alot because its more dangerous than other things but because it's another very expensive drug.1000 a month state side
