Qualitative tests suck. They are invented to save time and money not to give

better answers.

We really only need 2 tests in my mind and they both should be PCR Quants.

The HCV RNA Real time Quant < 43 and for anything below NGI QuantaSure < 2

All the Qualitative test does is keep you guessing and since they do not need to

to give you an actual number  false positives are more likely.

No test goes to ZERO so I`d rather take a number , it is the next best thing.

If you are UND <2 you are very UND and that is the goal.

FYI , the NGI QuantaSure is temporarily not available since June28

so it is back to <43 unless you go Quest and do the TMA Quants which

my hepatologist apparently does not care for.

When i wrote..........for someone that was still dectected it would read <25 HCV RNA DETECTED.

That would apply to someone that was still detected but less then 25 iu/ml.

LOl dave, its sad when you can't think clearly is a good thing while on tx. I just got to figure out now what to blame it on.

I meant 12 and 48 weeks. Sometimes I think I'm developing early dementia.

I guess the most sensitive tests are too expensive for them to use. I would think they would want to use them at 12,24 weeks and 24 post.
