Hi All,
My husband (Tom) had an examination for a new life insurance policy and was turned down for the life insurance when the lab blood results came back. We got a copy of the results and it says his ALT (SGPT) is 66 (normal is 0-45) it also said his HDL Chol is 58 (normal is 35-55) and at the bottom of the report it says “HCV ABY – POS” (normal - NEG). Now from what I’ve been able to learn online it sounds like he has Hepatitis-C. I called my doctor and asked for a blood test to rule out Hepatitis –C for me and my test came back negative. But my doctor has been doing some other blood test on me, and two weeks ago my liver enzymes have come back high. She took me off my Cholesterol control meds because she said my cholesterol is still 220 and my liver enzymes are high. Now two weeks later and my blood test results show my enzyme have gone from 59 to 80 (for no reason).
It looks to me like both Tom and I have some kind of liver dysfunction and/or liver damage. Tom has an appointment with a doctor (first doctor he’s seen in 10 years) so we’re hoping this doctor can help us with this mystery. We're both 53 years old and in general we both feel fine. Although my ankles, hands, and abdomen are swollen, I have to pee about every 30 minutes, and I also have very blurred vision that last from 30 minutes to 2 hours. My Ophthalmologist can't figure out why my vision blures out. Does anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong with us and/or why our livers could be putting out high enzymes??? Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks, KingsClassy
