Thank you!
thank you very much for you answer, it was very helpful
You had it right in your title, it is HCV.
I agree with Ceanothus above. Two months after exposure seems long enough to know you are OK as far as the virus but perhaps not necessarily the antibody. It can resurface up to six months after exposure.
I agree it would have had to be rough sex in which blood is involved. If this is the same two minutes you refer to in your HIV post then I think you may be OK. :) :)
You might want to consider getting vaccinated to Hepatitis B
You will have to ask on the Hepatitis B forum for that part of your question, but for HCV I can tell you that it is transmitted by blood to blood contact, not normal sexual activity. It is NOTconsidered an STD, and for any transmission on a personal level it does require getting the blood of an infected individual into an open wound of your own. The most common methods of transmission are IV drug use, transfusions that were done before about 1990, or improperly sterilized medical equipment, tattoo, barber, or manicure equipment.
If you had rough sex, with blood involved, your risk is still fairly small and the timing would depend on which test you had. If you have the more expensive PCR test done the results are accurate within 2 weeks of exposure, but with the antibody screening test I've heard time frames between 6 weeks and 6 months. A lot of people come to this forum obsessing over whether they might have been exposed during sexual encounters. It is truly quite rare, as many of us have had relationships for decades before learning we carried the virus and yet our spouses test free of the virus, but if you are one of those people who tend to worry anyway then save yourself the trouble by sticking with safe sex practices.
sorry for the title
what i meant is HVC/HBV
