got liver biopsy results

Hey everyone this is Cassie other wise know as ninjapinky. I'm back. Just wanted everyone to know I'm still in the pretreatment phase of things. I just had my biopsy done last Tuesday and the told me yesterday its grade 2 stage 1 and that I'm a good canidate for treatment. I don't actually go to see him again til Sept 1st but we are supposed to set things more into motion then. I'm getting more nervous then I was but I'm still anxious to get this over with. Oh I have a lot of labs so if anyone wants to know numbers or give me interpretation just let me know!

Well, I don't think treating will interfer much with your game playing.  I think it is important to maintain an active life style for as long as you are able.  Walking is an excellent activity because it is outside and it is not hard.  You will lose muscle mass on tx.

I have no answers for your current fatigue.

I work full time right now. But try to be lazy the rest of the time. I like rpgs too playing resident evil 5 right now on Xbox 360 and a elf city on my phone!
And I'm not real sure why I am sick now I'm tired and sore all over. And nauseous most of the time been that way off and on for months that's how they found the hep c.

Extra curricular activites -- to some of us who work, that means everything else.  You will have to see how you feel but you may need to conserve your energy for important things.  I found that I could work full time -- missing very few days -- but didn't feel like doing much other than that.  I did have someone cleaning my house so it was nice not to have to to that.  Why are you so sick now?

I did a lot of things on treatment - hiked some until about 6 months is, had Christmas dinner for about 30 -- but I drew the line at bowling!  You will just have to see how you feel.

I think the recovery time varies on the biopsy. This time, I was only uncomfortable the next day, but the last time, I was sore for weeks.  They told me this time if I saw any bleeding I should call the doctor or if I had pain for a long time.  If your pain is severe, I suggest calling the doctor.  If you are sore, give it some time.

I was sore for a while. idk why... I just remember thinking it took a couple of weeks to get over it. I thot it was gonna be no biggie. I think I was depressed too, hearing stage 4.
It sounds like ur good to go. and yes, the waiting is worse than the tx. lol
What video games do you play. I like rpgs but don't have time w/ work starting. I say: Lay on that couch as long as you can! Take care of you for a year! Karen

Extra curricular?  Which exactly do u mean? I work and clean my house and play video games with my man that's about all I do. I'm sick a lot so I usually don't do much else. I think I'm lazy!   Um I have a question how long is the norm on pain after the biopsy its been 10 days and I'm still sore?

I sympathize.  My internet connections are doing the same recently.  Very frustrating.

It sounds like a good time to treat to me.  Your stage and grade look good. How is the rest of your life right now?  Do you have time to put extra curricular activities on hold for a year?  That is how I look at it.  The anxiety is a lot worse before treatment than during.  Just stay cool for a month until your appointment.

hey NP  (now NM)  good to see you ..The stage is the amount of liver damage (fibrosis) and the grade is the amount of inflammation going on.

So you have very mild damage with moderate inflammation .

Being young and with very little damage you should do very well with the triple therapy. success rates are around 75  -80%  ( if I remember correctly you are geno type 1?)

On the other hand with very little liver damage .you would have the option of waiting until the meds get even better  and perhaps with Interferon out of the mix.

Always best to go with the advice of a Knowledgeable (in the tx of HCV) doctors advice on when is best to treat

Good luck..and welcome back.. oh here is a scale .
..Will

Fibrosis score:
F0 = no fibrosis
F1 = portal fibrosis without septa
F2 = portal fibrosis with few septa
F3 = numerous septa without cirrhosis
F4 = cirrhosis

Activity score:
A0 = no activity
A1 = mild activity
A2 = moderate activity
A3 = severe activity

I found this very helpful when I had the same questions. Click on the tables in the section on fibrotic progression.

Grade 2! I'm jealous! It's cool to get to check things off the list getting ready for tx. I hope somebody will help interpret your labs. I don't know that much about it..
