6 months

can anyone tell me why i have to wait 6 months before starting my tx? i'm type 1a with viral load of 2.9 mil

I tend to agree the holidays are stressful and maybe he is looking out for your best interest, as I’m sure he has seen the effects of TX on other patients during this time period. I would ask why not start in January that way if your doing the 48 weeks you should be finished before the holidays of next year.

thanx for info. I go to back to dr on wed and will ask. Is there an yother serious questions that I really need to ask?

some docs do not like to start tx around the holidays. If your stage is not too advanced, they'll wait till they think it won't break the emotional damns, as holidays are stressfilled.

that does not explain a 6 month wait however, what stage grade are you, have you had a biopsy, why did the doctor say wait...you must ask for all his reasons.

If he thinks you are alcoholic or a pot smoker, he may be waiting to see if you can stop all that, as you'll get hurt by the tx if you aren't clean.
